In the basketball hotbed known as the DMV (D.C., Maryland, and Virginia), talent runs deep, and this year is no different as Jamaal McKnight is one of the area’s most promising point guards. During his time in Winston-Salem, NC at the 2023 CP3 Rising Stars National Camp, he used his exceptional ball-handling skills, combined with a burst of speed to get by defenders with ease. What makes us even more excited about McKnight is that he has been quiety been improving his jump shot. As he keeps on improving his overall game, McKnight will continue to be a household name in the DMV and nationally in the 2027 class.

In the class of 2027 there are not a lot of other guards that have the playmaking ability like Tyler Sutton. Sutton’s advanced skill-set, ability to make plays at a high level, and his incredible shiftiness have defenders struggling to contain him when the ball is in his hands. Sutton’s game truly shines in the open floor. His speed and ball-handling skills allow him to push the pace and create fast-break opportunities. In transition, he’s a one-man wrecking crew, capable of finishing at the rim or finding an open teammate with a perfectly timed pass and all of this was fully on display at the 2023 CP3 Rising Stars National Camp in Winston-Salem, NC.

Davion Thompson’s playmaking ability was off the charts in Winston-Salem, NC at the 2023 CP3 Rising Stars National Camp. He possesses an elite passing ability that sets him apart from a lot of point guards in the class of 2027 . While he excels at getting his teammates involved, he’s equally adept at creating scoring opportunities for himself. His ability to hit shots off the pull-up and drive to the rim with finesse make him a dual threat that keeps defenders guessing. This versatility makes him a valuable asset in any offensive scheme. As he continues to develop and refine his abilities, he’s poised to make a significant impact not only on his high school team but also on the collegiate level.

Joshua Tyson was a standout two-way player in Winston-Salem, NC at the 2023 CP3 Rising Stars National Camp. As a point guard, Tyson’s scoring prowess is a valuable asset. He possesses a versatile scoring ability, capable of putting points on the board in a variety of ways. Whether it’s slashing to the rim, hitting mid-range jumpers, or connecting from beyond the arc, Tyson can adapt his game to exploit defensive weaknesses. His scoring versatility adds an unpredictable element to his team’s offense. It’s not just Tyson’s offense that makes him a standout player; he’s also one of the better defenders we saw during the camp. His tenacity on the defensive end disrupts opponents’ plays and creates turnovers.

Timmy West was one of the more versatile guards in attendance at the 2023 CP3 Rising Stars National Camp in Winston-Salem, NC. On the offensive end of the floor he has an all around scoring package. Whether it’s from the mid-range, behind the arc, or driving to the basket, he has a knack for putting the ball in the hoop. As a strong attacking guard, he not only boasts a diverse scoring repertoire but also stands out as a formidable defender. His ability to disrupt passing lanes, apply on-ball pressure, and make timely steals showcases his defensive prowess. West’s defensive skills often translate into fast-break opportunities, turning defense into offense.
