The second session of the CBG Fall Series took place in Richmond this past Sunday with the CBG Fall Showcase Team Camp, featuring some of the top teams from across the DMV as well as two CBG Elite teams featuring players from across the region. The event featured high level competition and great games, as well as prospects for colleges of all levels moving forward.

Here's a look at some of the top 2024 performers from MD schools at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='1366898' first='Lucas' last='Sekasi'] | 6'3” PG | Tenley Tigers

Sekasi has been one of the top guards in the DMV since the summer started, and he showed why this team will be a favorite to compete for the DCISA Championship this year. Sekasi is a scoring guard who plays with great pace, fills it up in different ways and from multiple levels and he has terrific footwork and touch when he gets in the paint to finish over bigger defenders. While his main role and impact is as a scorer, he's also a cerebral guard who handles pressure and makes others better while also setting the tone defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='1225260' first='Scottie' last='Hubbard'] | 6'6” WF | Tenley Tigers

Hubbard transfers to the Tigers from St. Andrew's where he was a standout the last few years, and he fits in perfectly with their uptempo style on both ends of the floor. It was one of the best performances I had seen from Hubbard, as he got out in transition for easy buckets, defended well and picked his spots and made shots consistently. He is able to impact the game on both ends of the floor and he produced across the board playing with purpose and impacting the game in positive ways.

[player_tooltip player_id='2231765' first='Isaiah' last='Buckley'] | 6'1” WG | Clinton Christian

Clinton Christian had an impressive performance positing two big wins, and Buckley was the breakout guy as they were without two of their top players and he stepped up big scoring the basketball. The 6'1” guard is an all-around scorer who can make shots both off the catch and off the bounce, he gets downhill aggressively and he's a strong finisher through contact. He showed good athleticism as a finisher and a defender and was one of their more consistent players throughout the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='1579102' first='Daouda' last='Traore'] | 6'5” WF | Clinton Christian

Traore played some of the best basketball I have seen since he joined this team, as we've always seen the big time potential with him and he looks like he may be turning the corner now. The 6'5” wing showed his strength and athleticism around the rim on a regular basis throughout the event, throwing down thunderous dunks and making plays defensively around the rim too. He's a big time athlete who's starting to figure out how to use it to be productive, and he's showing improvement in his ball skills as well.

Ky Massey | 5'10” PG | Clinton Christian

Massey didn't have his best showing as a scorer in this event, but that didn't stop him from being the straw that stirs the drink as their floor general. He did a fantastic job setting the tone defensively with his on ball pressure, and he did a great job controlling the tempo and running in transition where he found teammates for easy buckets. He's one of the toughest guards you'll find in the DMV, as well as a natural leader and a dynamic playmaker on both ends of the floor.

Letre Yawn | 5'9” PG | Largo

It was my first time watching Yawn who often gets overshadowed playing with one of the top players in the country, but he was thoroughly impressive running the show for this Largo team. The diminutive point guard put on a clinic in the pick-and-roll, making great decisions on when to use the screen and when to turn it down, seeing the rotations and delivering pin point passes to roll men and shooters. He is super shifty and quick off the bounce, and he uses fakes and shows great touch to negate his size disadvantage in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411084' first='Jake' last='Tringone'] | 6'7” PF | CBG Select

Tringone came down to play with CBG Select from Sandy Springs in Maryland, and if he wasn't the perfect big man for a camp team as he was unselfish, played hard and encouraged his teammates regularly. He has a great motor as he runs the floor hard and competes for every rebound he can get his hands on, and he showed an inside-out game offensively as he scored it efficiently in a number of different ways. The energy and unselfishness he played with was a big reason that his team was able to go 2-0 against two very good teams over the weekend.
