Nando Mirarchi, a 5’11” Sophomore guard at Cathedral Prep, is ready to explode on the scene for a breakout season. Mirarchi’s shooting stroke is a standout feature, particularly when he gets his feet set. Nando already possesses impressive speed and agility, and I expected him to gain strength and more height in the coming years. His game intelligence is noteworthy — he possesses good vision on the fast break and demonstrates excellent ball-handling skills. What sets him apart, especially for a player so young, is his decision-making ability. Nando knows precisely when to distribute the ball to teammates and when to take the shot or drive himself, showcasing maturity beyond his years. His fearless approach to driving the lane against larger defenders also indicates a level of confidence that can’t be overlooked.

His speed and agility set the pace, but it’s his advanced skill set that truly makes him a standout. Thompson possesses an arsenal of moves to beat defenders, notably his use of the Euro-step and spin move when driving to the basket. His vertical leap and jumping ability not only allow him to play above the rim but also enable him to shoot over taller defenders. His pull-up jump shot is strong, and when he sets his feet, his shooting stroke is excellent.Another standout quality is his passing ability. Thompson has a knack for delivering the ball to his teammates in stride, making him an exceptional playmaker. Given these skills and his physical attributes, Thompson is well-positioned to have a significant impact this season. Keep an eye on him as he is poised for big things.
Luc Soerensen
Luc Soerensen
Luc Soerensen, a 6’6″ Sophomore forward, is a player to watch for the upcoming season in District 10. What sets Soerensen apart is his offensive versatility as a stretch forward — he has demonstrated good shooting range and can knock down 3-pointers when his feet are set. He spreads the floor for his team, creating space for himself and his teammates. At this young stage of his career, the potential for growth is immense. He’s likely to gain both strength and bulk. There’s also the possibility of him adding a few more inches in height. Luc Soerensen is unquestionably a player to keep an eye on this season.
Peja Strobl
Peja Strobl
Peja Strobl, a 6’2″ Sophomore point guard, is an exceptional shooter, particularly from beyond the arc. He gets his feet set and his shot off with remarkable quickness, making him dangerous to leave open. Even more impressively, his 3-point range extends several feet behind the line. His excellent vision in fast-break situations makes him an asset during high-pace games, as he can find open teammates with pinpoint accuracy. On the defensive end, Strobl is a quality defender. Given his current height and size, it’s easy to forget that Strobl is only a Sophomore. As he continues to grow and fill out his frame over the next few years, he will become an even more challenging matchup for opponents.
Donovan Carney
Donovan Carney
Donovan Carney, a 6’3″ Sophomore point guard, is on track for a breakout season for several reasons. His athleticism stands out immediately — it’s rare to find such a blend of speed, agility, and leaping ability in a player so young. Furthermore, his excellent jumping ability allows him to play above the rim.Carney’s ball-handling skills are noteworthy. His quick release makes him a difficult assignment for defenders, as they must always be prepared for him to get a shot off quickly.Given his quickness, he’s also a challenging matchup on defense. While already a formidable player, the expectation is that Carney will continue to grow and improve, as he’s only a Sophomore. His combination of raw athleticism, strong fundamentals, and room for growth make him a player to watch closely.
