2024 Combo Guards to Watch

Here are the 2024 combo guards to watch this winter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1153958' first='Isaiah' last='Brown'], 6'1 Don Bosco Prep</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brown was a steady presence in the backcourt last season and should have a strong 2023-24 season. The 6'1 guard has a good handle and a quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and finish around the basket. Brown gets his teammates involved in the half court and has a good touch in the mid-range. He has the ability to play off the ball as well and slides his feet on the defensive end. The St. Francis (PA) commit has a lightning quick release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Clayville is more than just a shooter as he can get into the paint off the bounce and finish through contact. He moves well without the ball in his hands and is an underrated passer. The 6'0 guard has a clean shooting stroke as he wastes little motion and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Peña moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He has an underrated handle and gets deflections on the defensive end. Carson shoots the ball with confidence from distance and can make opponents pay for giving him space. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and uses his size to see over his defender. The 6'3 guard has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. Thomas moves well without the ball in his hands and has an underrated handle. He can finish around the basket and slides his feet on defense.
