Prep Hoops SC’s #1 Overall Player Cameron Scott Cameron Scott 6’6″ | SG Lexington | 2024 State #23 Nation SC tops the Class 5A Super 7. Cam had a busy yet productive Summer, capped off by his Commitment to the University of Texas on August 12th. Scott is a huge pickup for Coach Rodney Terry and it will be exciting to see his fit in Austin next year. But he still has unfinished business at the High School Level. Cam and the Lexington Wildcats are one of the favorites in Class 5A, and should be in store for a big 2023-24 Season.
Next up in our 5A Super 7 is Summerville’s Yannick Smith Yannick Smith 6’3″ | SG Summerville | 2024 State SC . Smith is a Football Commit to Eastern Carolina University but has had lots of success on the Basketball Court too. Yannick was the 2023 SCBCA 5A State Player of the Year. He is a very athletic wing who creates havoc on both ends of the floor with some of the best hands in the state. The Green Wave is a team with high expectations in the Lower State, and the talent of Yannick is a big reason why.
Jaxon Prunty Jaxon Prunty 6’6″ | SF Lexington | 2024 State SC makes the Class 5A Super 7 List as the 3rd Member of Team United and the 2nd Lexington Wildcat. Prunty has been one of the top players in the state since joining the Wildcats, and helps make up one of the best duos in 5A. Until it was cut short by an injury, Jaxon was putting up a stretch of great performances during the Nike Peach Jam. He averaged 12.5 Points Per Game, 5.8 Assists Per Game, and 3.4 Rebounds Per Game in 8 Games.
Devin is another two-sport star in our 5A Super 7. He is a left-handed Quarterback on the Football Field and a Combo Guard – the #1 Ranked CG in Prep Hoops SC’s Ranking – on the Basketball Court. Grainger brings great speed and vision to the hardwood. Conway made it to the Lower State Championship Last Season, and if they are to make it back Grainger will have to have a big role again.
Defending 5A State Champion Christian Andrews Christian Andrews 5’11” | PG Dorman | 2024 State SC makes our list at #5 in the Class Super 7. Andrews is going to be the lead guard for the Cavaliers this season. His ability to score the ball is among the best in the Class, and he does it with supreme confidence. Christian has a knack for changing pace and creating space. He also has good vision and will teammates involved in the offense.
Patterson will create a lot of matchup problems for teams in Class 5A Region 1 this season. At 6’6″ with + Length, there are not a lot of wings that can guard him. Jaquarious has a solid handle and is a very good shooter, but can also guard multiple positions on the defensive end. He currently holds an offer from Queens University.
Kayzzin McDowell Kayzzin McDowell 6’2″ | SG Byrnes | 2024 State SC had a terrific Grassroots Season, making him one of the biggest stock risers in the 2024 Class and one of Andrew Baxley’s SC Summer Standouts. McDowell has developed into one of the best shooters in 5A. He can score off the catch and off the dribble with deep range. Kayzzin received his first College Offer early this summer, but if he can bring similar production to the High School Game as he did the AAU Game that number is going to jump.
