(1) Jalen Suggs of Minnehaha Academy (Orlando Magic). The 5th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft just finished his second season with the youthful Magic. Jalen played in 53 games last year starting 19 (dealt with injuries for part of the year) averaging 10 points, three boards and three assists a game. Improved his three point shooting 11 percentage points nearly getting to 33 percent plus shot 42 percent overall (up six percentage points from his rookie year).
(2) Dawson Garcia of Prior Lake (Minnesota). Garcia joined Suggs as McDonald’s All Americans out of high school (although they unfortunately didn’t get to play the game because of covid). Garcia averaged 15.3 points and 6.7 rebounds a game last season and will be a preseason All Big Ten pick by many.
(3) Kerwin Walton of Hopkins (Texas Tech). Walton was actually a teammate of Garcia for a half a year at UNC in 2021-22 before both moved on. Walton played 13 minutes a game last year for the Red Raiders scoring 3.6 points a game shooting 41 percent at the arc. Walton started 20 games as a frosh at UNC.
(4) Ben Carlson of East Ridge (Utah). Carlson averaged 4.5 points and 4.6 rebounds a game for the Utes a season ago playing 19 minutes a game and starting all 32 games as the worker in the frontcourt.
(5) Dain Dainja of Park Center (Illinois). After having to wait a couple years, Dainja took advantage of his chances last year averaging 9.5 points and five rebounds in 20 minutes a game. I have Dainja as a top 30 player in the Big Ten and the 6th ranked low post player in the league.
(6) Steven Crowl of Eastview (Wisconsin). Crowl is the FIRST player on this list that has not transferred in college basketball (Suggs didn’t either unless he transferred his career to the pros! lol) and after a fantastic junior season averaging 12 plus points and seven boards a game, Crowl will be a preseason All Big Ten pick and likely one of the best 10-15 players in the league.
(7) Gabe Madsen of Rochester Mayo (Utah). Madsen started for Utah along with Carlson last year averaging 11.7 points a game shooting nearly 37 percent from the arc. He started his career at Cincy and has seen a nice revival at Utah.
(8) Mason Madsen of Rochester Mayo (Boston College). Played 21 minutes a game for BC last year as a part time starter that averaged six points and three rebounds a game. A career 33 percent shooter at the arc.
(9) Drake Dobbs of Eden Prairie (St. Thomas). A deep bench reserve for UST that played in 11 games averaging two points a contest.
(10) Nathan Heise of Lake City (Northern Iowa). Finally we come to another guy that has not transferred yet. That said, Heise has spent so much time hurt that he is just hoping to play. Heise was a full time starter for UNI as both a frosh and a sophomore ball handler but he only played two games last season.

(12) Jacob Hutson of Edina (Northern Iowa). After starting 19 games as a sophomore Hutson played only six minutes a game off the bench last year as a junior so he has transferred to UNI for more opportunity.
(13) J’Vonee Hadley of Cretin-Derham Hall (Colorado). Hadley went from Northeastern to being a temporary commit at UST to junior college and then out to Colorado. Last year Hadley started 19 games for the Buffs scoring eight points a game and grabbing six boards a contest.
(19) Cameron Steele of Minnetonka (Abilene Christian). After starting 19 games as a sophomore, Steele was a reserve as a junior playing 16 minutes a game shooting 41 percent at the arc and scoring six points a contest.
(23) Curtis Jones of Cretin-Derham Hall (Iowa State). Jones averaged 15 points a game last season shooting 36 percent from the arc and starting all games for Buffalo. He then transferred to Iowa State and is expected to be one of their key shooters.
(25) Tyree Ihenacho of Prior Lake (North Dakota). After a great freshman year at UND starting all games he played, Tyree then went to James Madison and was a reserve scoring four points a game for two years. Tyree is now back at UND.
