Donovan Carney
Donovan Carney
Donovan Carney, a 6’3 Sophomore point guard at Butler, is making waves in Western Pennsylvania as one of the region’s premier athletes, especially when considering his youth.
Carney’s athletic prowess is evident in multiple facets of his game. His ball-handling skills are impressive. Where he truly shines, though, is his ability to pull up off the dribble and release a shot quickly. This quick-release shooting makes him a challenge for defenders.
Further showcasing his athleticism is his outstanding vertical leap. Not only can he dunk, but he does so effortlessly. His inherent quickness, both in reaction time and movement, further establishes him as a force on the court. Given his age, the potential for growth and refinement in Donovan’s game is vast. You’ll be hearing his name a lot over the next few years.
Mister Ham
Mister Ham
Mister Ham, standing at 6’4, is a physical force to be reckoned with in Western Pennsylvania. One of his most distinguishing features is his innate ability as a shot-blocker. This skill, combined with his impressive speed for a player of his stature, allows him to control the defensive end with authority.
On the offensive side, Ham showcases a deep toolkit that includes classic post moves, notably his refined baby hook. His range on the court is commendable, particularly for a player in the PF position, providing his team with the versatility needed in today’s up-tempo basketball games.
Ham’s toughness is another standout quality; he doesn’t shy away from contact. Instead, he leans into it, consistently finishing plays.
Damon Curry Damon Curry 6’2″ | SG Franklin | 2024 State PA has emerged as a top-tier talent in Western Pennsylvania. His exceptional athleticism and skill set were displayed last season when he led Franklin in scoring, averaging an impressive 17 points per game. Curry boasts a near 50% field goal percentage, and his proficiency, especially from the 3-point range, speaks to his extraordinary range.
Damon’s leadership shines through both in his on-court dominance and his vision as a playmaker. He’s not just a scorer; he has an uncanny ability to distribute the ball, creating opportunities for his teammates.
Combining his good size and strength, Curry expertly maneuvers his body to craft angles at the basket, making him a challenging matchup for any defender. With whispers of him possibly becoming the top player in District 10 next season, it’s clear his future holds promise. College scouts, especially from PSAC, should be on high alert if they aren’t so already.
Evan Berger Evan Berger 6’4″ | CG Thomas Jefferson | 2024 State PA , a 6’4″ senior guard at Thomas Jefferson, is one of Western Pennsylvania’s standout basketball talents. His remarkable athleticism manifests both in his agility on the court and his explosive vertical jump.
Evan is as comfortable from beyond the arc as he is driving the lane. His scoring average speaks for itself, connecting for 23 points per game during his junior season. Earning a spot on both the Pittsburgh Post Gazette All Section 1st Team and All WPIAL/District 5A further solidifies his reputation.
Evan recently received an offer from Allegheny College – an up-and-coming hoops program in Northwestern Pennsylvania. That said, I expect some PSAC teams to give him some serious considerations.

Bradyn Foster
Bradyn Foster, a 6’8″ Senior power forward, is a top athlete in Western Pennsylvania. Representing Highlands, his impressive stats from the previous season, averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds a game, only begin to highlight what he brings to the court. Bradyn’s unparalleled athleticism for a player of his stature is evident in his extraordinary speed and agility. Bradyn has the athleticism that college coaches desire and would be a good fit for the PSAC.
