Adam Gonia (5’8/PG/’24/Auburn High School)

Adam is small but is a player that every player in camp would have gladly wanted on their team. As a matter of fact, if I was still lacing them up, I would want Adam on my team. The kid has a heart and does not back down from anyone or any challenge. If a bucket is needed, put the ball in his hands, for he will either deliver the points or set up a teammate for the scoring opportunity. He is a reliable ball-handler with a brilliant floor game. He can score at all levels and is tenacious when attacking off the bounce. He is a relentless player that gets after his opponents on both ends of the floor, and what he lacks in size, he makes up for it in skills and heart. He doesn’t hold any offers right now, and maybe that is because of his size, but he only needs one shot to prove that he can bring a lot to a program at the next level.

Josh has absolutely matured in so many facets when it comes to his game. His skillset on the interior has made gigantic leaps, and he is now knocking on the door of the state as one of the best post players that will take the court this upcoming season. His ability to finish around the rim and in the paint with both hands, along with his sensational footwork and his understanding of the game and what to do with the rock on his post catches, has really helped catapult his name as one player that could be the difference maker in Huntsville winning it all this year. I still left camp, telling myself that Josh has to play a little more aggressively as he let some of the smaller pesky guards cause him not to be as aggressive as he could be, as it seemed like he did not want to hurt the little guys.
Ben Evans Ben Evans 6'3" | SF Vestavia Hills HS | 2024 State AL (6’4/G|F/’24/Vestavia Hills HS)

Ben continues to be one of the brightest young prospects in the state. He came to camp despite not being far removed from having his wisdom teeth extracted. Still, he performed at a high level showing amazing athleticism and scoring prowess. I have put a lot of ink on Ben and recently talked to several coaches that are high on him. I have said it before and will say it again, Vestavia will go as far as Ben leads them this year. I know the Rebels are system-oriented, but with a little freedom to be a creator with the ball in his hands, Ben could be a huge piece to Vestavia, making a deep playoff run.

It wasn’t until I sat down to do this article that I realized that Bradley is the backcourt running mate with the aforementioned Adam Gonia. He started out facilitating and getting his teammates involved and had me thinking that he was a lead guard, but as the day went on, he changed my mind as he showed his ability to score off the bounce. He showed excellent bursts and excellent body control at the rim. He is a player who can get to his spots and gets good separation so he can get his shot off. When he made up his mind that he would be more of a scorer than an initiator, he was one of the toughest players to be defended off the bounce. His maturity level was evident, and he is going to be a player that could have a huge senior season.

Tyler Chase Cone (6’2/CG/’25/Good Hope HS)

Tyler is a player who came into camp and had one thing in mind: to score the rock. He made it known that the strength of his game was scoring. He had a monster day, as he was highly productive in the scoring column. I know this may seem redundant, but when I walked away from camp and was thinking about Tyler’s game, nothing took precedence or was second or third outside of his scoring acumen, which is why I say he is just wired to score the ball and has the tools to make it happen. His dribble-drive game is one of the best I saw at the camp, and Good Hope has a proven scorer as they eye the 2023-2024 season.
Reid Kameron Conley (6’0/PG/’26/Chattanooga Christian School)

Reid is a ’26 kid with the highest confidence level of anybody who took the court at camp. Let me just get straight to the point when it comes to Reid; that is this: he is a young dog. He devoured defenders, young and old. He is a listed PG, but the kid can flat-out score the rock. He is a playmaker that makes everyone around him better. However, I cannot deviate from just how much swag he played with and how he wanted the burden of winning on his shoulders. Everything about this kid trends upward, and he has a bright future. He has to continue working on his perimeter J, as a lot of his shots were flat, but the thing about that is this: he made them when they counted.
