We often share names with our readers of players to take note of, and today is no different as we’ll take a closer look at some players worthy of taking note of as we prepare for the 2023-24 season.
The rising Junior for Greenwich Country day brings a lot of intrigue on of the offensive end. A seemingly tactical offensive mind, Grodin allows the offense to flow and for sets to be properly executed and waiting for his moment to impact a play. By doing so, his smooth in-rhythm jumpshot should be a strong point for his game this upcoming season. Recently at the Team Jones Elite camp Grodin showed the ability to leak out into transition and attack multiple defenders when going downhill with a strong knack of drawing and absorbing contact.
Highlights
Nicholas Cozzolino
Nicholas Cozzolino
Cozzolino is a name to keep tabs on because of his ability to do little things really well. While partaking in the Team Jones Elite Camp, Cozzolio had a few instances of strong transition defense that were of note. On a few occasions, Cozzolino timed his transition defense very well by displaying good rim running ability and timing from the weakside leading to strong rim deterrence and forcing the opposition into making out-of-sync passes in transition. Offensively, Cozzolino did a good job of controling himself and stopping on a dime and remaining balance when stepping into his shot.
Michael Therrien
Michael Therrien
Therrien is an intriguing prospect for schools to keep tabs on given his size and age. At 6’5″, he is only a Sophomore and one can assume he will only continue to grow throughout his time at Woodstock. He is already showing signs of knowing how to leverage his size for positioning on the glass with strong box outs and has a knack for generating second chance opportunities by timing and aiming tip-outs after a miss to help keep the possession alive.
Kaelon Commodore
Kaelon Commodore
Another rising Sophomore to add to the list is St Luke’s Kaelon Commodore. The 5’10” guard is an explosive athlete with a quick first step allowing him to create various opportunities for himself and his teammates. When attacking and getting paint touches, Commodore keeps his eyes up allowing him to utilize his vision to either finish or find an open teammate. Utilizing his length on defense, Kaelon should continue to build on his already strong ability to contain defenders at the point of attack as he is a disciplined on-ball defender.
