August 21st-22nd Cedric Cobb Sr and I had the 6th annual Southwest Basketball Camp at the Phhacility in Phx, AZ. 120 players from four states came to gain exposure in front of college coaches and scouts plus compete versus some top end players over the two days.

Each player competed in 5 games for the two days plus 60 competed in an extra All-Star Game. (Top-20, Top-40 and a Non-Senior All-Star Game)

We start breaking down each team.

Next up is Team Stanford

[player_tooltip player_id='2133313' first='Jackson' last='Edgerton'] ALA-Ironwood

A point guard can drive and kick to a teammate and really sees the court well with a good feel for the game. He can create his own offense and blow by opponents to score. He is highly competitive on defense and will block shots inside. He plays the game from the neck up. He made the Top-40 game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1305183' first='Kyle' last='Mott'] Ben Franklin

A scoring guard is a specialist three point shooter. The sharp shooter has that unique Larry Bird release from the side. He can get out on the break and finish off baskets at the rim and plays with good energy on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id='2039490' first='Noah' last='Adkins'] ALA-Ironwood

An undersized quick point guard with deep three point range. He is a good ball handler and he can thread the needle to throw the dime. He has ultra confidence with his game. He made the Non-Senior All-Star game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2133601' first='Isaac' last='Hurtado'] Desert Ridge

A combo guard who can shoot the three and get to the basket. He is also a good passer who makes plays for his teammates. He is yet another talented senior guard for the Jaguars who can score and make plays.

[player_tooltip player_id='2136461' first='Tyler' last='Pluid'] Ben Franklin

A point guard who looks to facilitate first then score. He has a quick first step and changes his pace and direction well. He always has his head up and is very unselfish. He can shoot it from the perimeter and has a runner game.

Gabe Ray W 6'0 2025 Ben Franklin

A wing forward is a pure team player and is a good passer. He is a glue guy who moves the ball. He can score on put backs and has a floater game. He has effort on defense and goes for the 50/50 loose balls.

[player_tooltip player_id='2136460' first='Landon' last='Christensen'] Ben Franklin

A shooting guard is a deep three point shooter with good positional size. He has a super quick trigger with a rainbow arc. His range separates him from some and can drive it inside the lane and use the floater.

[player_tooltip player_id='2039503' first='Chad' last='Coplin'] ALA-Ironwood

A bigger scoring guard can score it from all three levels. He can blow by his opponent and score it in traffic. He uses the pick and roll to his advantage and he has a consistent catch three. He can get to the rim and score above the rim and he made the Top-40 game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1781801' first='Rusty' last='Harper'] ALA Queen Creek

A good sized power forward can score it inside in heavy traffic. He has the right hand hook shot and is very patient with double moves in the post. He also has some finesse moves to use and will rebound in his area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1781818' first='Pearson' last='Wiggins'] ALA-Ironwood (Pictured)

One of the pleasant surprises of the camp. He has legit size and is very long to score inside. He is very active and the lefty will flush it down way above the rim. He has a decent free throw touch and works well off the pick and roll game. He will block shots in his area and is a strong two-handed rebounder. He made the Top-20 game.
