Below is a review of the latest happenings on the recruiting scene in southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond).

SEPA Recruiting News:

[player_tooltip player_id='1865344' first='Adrian' last='Brito'] – 6'5” / 2025 / Pocono Mountain West / [program_tooltip program_id='2245515' first='NEPA' last='Elite'] / Small Forward: At the end of May we highlighted Brito (12.4 ppg. in 2022-23) as a 2025 prospect “We'd Offer Right Now”. It took college coaches a couple of months to catch-up, but last week Kutztown University (D2) gave Brito his first offer. He is a traditional small forward who can score in close with either hand or via his impressive face up game. Occasionally, Brito will also splash a three ball.

Justin Edwards – 6'7″ / 2023 / Imhotep Charter / [program_tooltip program_id='2078709' first='Team' last='Final'] EYBL / Combo Guard: The former Imhotep superstar and McDonald's All-American is set to begin his college career at Kentucky this fall. So, he has not even played a game for Coach Calipari yet, but earlier this week The Athletic predicted that Edwards will be the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

[player_tooltip player_id='2235948' first='Brendan' last='Horan'] – 6'5″ / 2025 / Archbishop Carroll / [program_tooltip program_id='2078678' first='East' last='Coast Power'] / Wing: After a monster summer, the offers continue to flow in for one SEPA's biggest 2025 stock risers. Horan just added an offer from Old Dominion to his growing pile. Horan scores at all three levels. He also surprises opponents with his athleticism as well as his tenacity.

Billy Richmond – 6'5″ / 2024 / Camden (NJ) / NJ Scholars EYBL / Shooting Guard: ESPN.com's 20th ranked player in the Class of 2024recently cut his final list to eight schools – Texas, Memphis, Alabama, Kentucky, Miami, Kansas, Louisville, and LSU. In September Richmond will take official visits to LSU, Kentucky, and Memphis. Then in October he has scheduled officials at Kansas and Alabama.

[player_tooltip player_id='2195052' first='Tyler' last='Sutton'] – 6'2” / 2027 / George School / NJ Scholars EYBL / Combo Guard: One of the most lethal scoring guards in Pennsylvania has picked up another offer. The latest one is from Rick Pitino and St. John's. Sutton (ranked 20th nationally among ‘27s) already has offers from West Virginia, Penn State, Iowa, Washington, and CSU-Bakersfield.

Connor Taddei – 6'3” / 2024 / Pennsbury / Philly Revolution / Wing: Taddei was a standout performer at June's Philly HS Live event where he posted 16.5 ppg. This versatile prospect does an excellent job of using his dead eye three-point shooting to set up his dribble drives. Earlier this week Taddei received an offer from York College (D3).

[player_tooltip player_id='991421' first='Ryan' last='Williams'] – 6'3″ / 2024 / Malvern Prep / [program_tooltip program_id='2078697' first='Philly' last='Pride'] UAA / Shooting Guard: After an incredible July circuit and then being named MVP of the “A-Town Throwdown” in early August, Williams received a steady stream of DI offers. He has now chopped his decision list to three programs - Iona, Fairfield, and Columbia. Williams will take an official visit to Fairfield later this month. He will then go on official visits to Iona and Columbia in early September. Williams has scheduled his commitment announcement for September 14th.

SEPA Recent Commitments:

[player_tooltip player_id='1187956' first='Aasim' last='Burton'] – 6'2” / 2024 / Cardinal O'Hara / [program_tooltip program_id='2078678' first='East' last='Coast Power'] / Combo Guard: Burton's speed, creative dribbles and transition scoring skills make him one of the top attack the rim guards in the area. Burton (a.k.a. “Flash”) recently chose Rider University from among several DI offers.

Kareem Diaz – 6'4” / 2023 / Dobbins Tech / BW Elite / Wing: Diaz is a supremely athletic and skilled scoring wing. Last season he averaged 21 ppg. and he tallied over 1,100 points for his career. After the 2022-23 season he was named as a 2nd Team 5A All-State election. Yesterday Diaz visited Kutztown University (D2) and end up committing to the Golden Bears.

Kyle Jones Jr – 6'4″ / 2023 / Father Judge / Bang Up Academy / Wing: This Georgia transplant had an outstanding senior season in the PCL -- 10.7 ppg.; 4 rpg; 35% on 3PAs. He scored a season high 21 points on two separate occasions. Late last week Jones committed to University of Albany.

[player_tooltip player_id='1190330' first='Pearse' last='McGuinn'] – 6'7” / 2024 / Cardinal O'Hara / [program_tooltip program_id='2078682' first='K-Low' last='Elite'] / Shooting Guard: McGuinn is a high-level stretch-4 prospect (37% on 3PAs) who recently committed to Stonehill College. This past season McGuinn averaged 12.4 points, 6 boards and 2.5 blocks per game. Included in McGuinn's stellar junior campaign was his 28 points (3 triples), 10 boards and 3 blocks performance vs. Monsignor Bonner.

SEPA Class of 2027 News:

Jarrod “Buddy” Denard – 5'10” / 2027 / Archbishop Wood / Team DPS / Point Guard: Denard is one of the most sought-after backcourt prospects in SEPA's Class of 2027. He recently announced that he would be attending PCL powerhouse Archbishop Wood for his freshman year. Denard isa fast and elusive primary ball handler who can score or distribute. Denard is also a reliable shooter from behind the arc.
