So, what makes a Prep Hoops “GameChanger?” That is up to the eyes of the beholder. It may be an additional top performer still leftover from our prior event coverage. It could also be a player who made a key play that swung the game or maybe knocked in a game-winning shot that could be highlighted here. Or, it simply could be a prospect that brought all of the intangibles to the table that led his team to victory. Let’s dive on in and highlight some of the GameChangers from Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase hosted at Fishers High School.
Jackson Kirk Jackson Kirk 6'0" | PG Noblesville | 2027 IN (Noblesville H.S. 2027) – In the very first game that I watched at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase on Sunday, this 5’11” playmaking point guard stood out. Kirk showed off a tight handle, the ability to take contact on his way to the basket, and some pretty advanced passing ability. His court vision was useful when operating off of ballscreens and also finished at a high level at the end of his drives. Definitely a name to remember as he develops at Noblesville High School.
Carter Kobe Carter Kobe 5'10" | PG Portage | 2026 IN (Marquette Catholic 2027) – There was a stretch in one game on Sunday where Kobe absolutely took over. Whether it was finishing in transition, attacking closeouts to finish at the rim, or scoring from the perimeter, this Marquette Catholic prospect was scoring it all over the floor. Kobe is a 6’0″ guard with a strong, athletic build for his age. He handles the ball well and showcased a real knack for putting the ball in the basket. Look for him to be an impactful player sooner rather than later at the traditional Class 1A powerhouse.
Ben Ly Ben Ly 6'10" | C Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory | 2027 IN (Brebeuf Jesuit 2027) – Anytime you come across a 6’9″ freshman in high school you are going to be intrigued. However, Ly backed it up with some very strong play on the floor at Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He proved himself as one of the better long term prospects at the event with a soft touch at the rim, good hands, and some consistent finishing inside. Ly had a couple of really tough catches on the roll and on high-low passes that he finished at the rim. He’s a really intriguing prospect.
Reece Mckee Reece Mckee 5'10" | PG New Albany | 2027 IN (New Albany H.S. 2027) – McKee, one of two twin guards at New Albany High School, showed off his dynamic playmaking ability throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 5’8″ point guard is incredibly shifty with the ball in his hands, scored it off of the dribble consistently, and displayed creative finishing ability at the end of his drives. There is a lot of ball skill and offensive talent to work with as McKee continues to develop physically.
Jacoby Miller Jacoby Miller 6'2" | SG Greensburg | 2027 IN (Greensburg H.S. 2027) – Miller proved himself as one of the more talented scorers at Sunday’s event. Coming off of a strong summer with Grand Park Premier , the 6’2″ guard was once again a standout amongst some of the best Class of 2027 prospects in the state. He has good size on the perimeter and is a very good three-point shooting threat. When his hands and feet are ready on the perimeter he is a knock down shooter. Look for him to potentially contribute to the Greensburg varsity rotation right away.
Camden Moore Camden Moore 6'2" | SG Zionsville | 2027 IN (Zionsville H.S. 2027) – It was a highly productive evening at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase for this 6’2″ Zionsville High School prospect. Moore has a strong, athletic frame with good size on the perimeter. He was very active on the offensive end finishing in the intermediate range, cutting off of the ball, and crashing the offensive glass. Then, in a later game, he knocked in back-to-back catch-and-shoot three-point shots. There is some real offensive talent and athletic traits to work with here.
Skylar Rodgers Skylar Rodgers 6'0" | SG Cathedral | 2027 IN (Cathedral H.S. 2027) – Rodgers is a 6’0″ left-handed guard that aggressively drove the ball to the basket throughout Sunday’s Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. He showed some real talent off of the dribble with a tight handle and the ability to finish in a variety of ways. The Cathedral High School product was productive throughout the summer with Progeny and is an up-and-coming guard worth monitoring as he continues to develop.
Bles’sed Thomas Bles’sed Thomas 5'11" | PG Pike | 2027 IN (Pike H.S. 2027) – This Pike High School prospect really stood out at our event on Sunday as one of the more talented prospects in the gym. He was consistently breaking down the defense of the dribble with a tight handle and some real explosiveness getting into the paint. Thomas can create scoring opportunities for himself and for his teammates and it will be fun to watch him develop under Coach Jeff Teague at Pike.
