Makai Campos (2027, 5’8″, West Ottawa)
Campos was impressive yesterday at the showcase. I liked the way he controlled the ball and finished in transition. Campos did an excellent job fending off defenders, taking a good angle and finishing at the rim. He’s a player to keep an eye on!
Landon Dirschell (2027, 5’10”, Coldwater)
Dirschell is a great example as to why points scored isn’t always a solid takeaway from a players performance at a showcase. He was VERY good yesterday. Dirschell showed grit, versatility and tough defense. You can tell that he played up this summer with the Midwest Stampede.
Prince Ravenna Miles El (2027, 6’0″, Brother Rice)
Ravenna Miles El caught my eye early in the day. I really liked the way that he attacked the game and made plays for others. There’s only so many shots available at a showcase so it was great to see the way he made opportunities for teammates with the drive and dish.
La’Myreion Stansberry (2027, 6/0″, Kalamazoo Central)
Stansberry looks like he’s on the verge of a very good high school basketball career. He gets up and down the court with quickness and fluidity.
KeSean Hobbs (2027, 6’2″, Benton Habor)
Hobbs was one of the bounciest players in the gym yesterday. He went up high for rebound instead of waiting on the ball and he had a fast break flush early in the day. Speaking of the fast break, Hobbs excels in transition.
Zack Tropea (2027, 5’5″, Lumen Christi)
Tropea probably had one of the highest basketball IQ’s in the gym this weekend. He’s super quick with the ball in his hands and has great change of direction abilities. Tropea sees the floor as well as anyone and is incredibly reliable with the ball.
Chase Carson (2027, 6’1″, Lakeland)
Carson will be a prospect to keep an eye on over the next 4 years. We’ll be hearing his name that’s for sure. Carson displayed very good defensive awareness. He read his opponents actions and was able to play the passing lanes.
Luke Quinn (2027, 5’11”, Hartland)
Quinn had himself a day yesterday. This young man can flat out shoot the rock. He buried triples off the bounce and off the catch and shoot before I even had my notebook out of my bag. Quinn’s range extended beyond the arc and he seemed to always be balance and maintain his balance on his shot.
