Our calendars have turned to August and will soon say September. Travel basketball and summer break have concluded throughout Georgia. While fall sports such as softball, volleyball and – of course – football will have the attention of Peach State sports fans for now, it will not be long before that attention turns back to the hardwood.

For Georgia's premier high school ballers, that attention is already there. And for many of the state's freshmen, it particularly was there in the form of this year's Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase. It was one of five that took place this weekend with others emanating from Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Florida.

How accurate Reynolds can be from behind the 3-point arc is only one reason fans of The Mount Vernon School will be overjoyed that fans of The Mount Vernon School will indeed be happy he is on their team. Reynolds is listed at 5-foot-7 and can also put points on the board inside of 3-point range as well. He gives a team the most he can with the minutes he is allotted and that will continue to be the case as he – as everyone that took part on Sunday – gains more experience.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-64dc1e34daa60"} /-->

Roberts is a towering 6-foot-6 out of Midtown with a multidimensional skillset. His Midtown team is glad to have him as is his Georgia Gators team where he played AAU for. Whether it is his rebounding, his ability to finish strong at the rim, sink 3-pointers or sink free throws, Roberts looks more like a veteran on the court than a freshman. He led his team to a blowout victory to close out his squad's portion of the schedule. He is not shy about attempting 3-pointers as he knows he will take – and make – plenty of his tries from deep. He was a key factor in what was a blowout victory for his team. Howery stands at an even six feet and played with TSF during the travel season. His heads-up attitude enables him to grab his own rebound in case of a missed attempt. Howery understands how to operate in iso situations and can deliver strong finishes at the basket – and can get creative from time to time with them too.
