Martinez is a capable playmaker, proving especially effective as a shotmaker. Standing right around 5’8, the guard is adept at rising up into pull-up jumpers, doing a great job of recognizing space between himself and the nearest defender. Being an undersized athlete, Martinez has worked to make himself a versatile shotmaker along the perimeter. Through a quick release and confidence shooting the rock off the catch, Martinez was an impactful player throughout the summer. Another aspect of Martinez’s impact came from high release layup finishes, scoring over contests with ease, often coming from the left hand.
Daniel Cabeen Daniel Cabeen 6'3" | SF Rock Canyon | 2024 State CO – Daniel Cabeen Daniel Cabeen 6'3" | SF Rock Canyon | 2024 State CO
Cabeen is an impactful off-ball scorer, effective at filling space for driving lanes and rebounding opportunities. The guard is especially sturdy versus immediate contests, capable of finishing through contact with either hand. If his man decides to ball watch, Cabeen is effective at recognizing the open lane and cutting towards the basket with authority. If the shot does not fall, the 6’3 guard is active at crashing the glass for putbacks, embracing contact of any kind. His impact throughout the summer has been highly productive, earning himself an offer from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
Trey Thomason – Chaparral
Thomason continues to reaffirm his shooting upside, providing an increased volume of three point makes off the dribble. The guard stands right around 6’3, proving effective as a shooter off of movement or off the catch. A quick trigger with above average height within the backcourt, Thomason looks to be a pivotal scorer within a Chaparral group bringing on a variety of underclassmen talent. Another aspect of Thomason’s impact has been scoring off the dribble, attacking downhill and digging into opponents’ hips before making extended arm finishes. His continued growth as a facilitator has been impactful, most often making kickout passes following drives. Whether off the jump stop and pass or a one handed sling, Thomason has notably improved his passing versatility. The guard has recently garnered an offer from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
Jacob Hoefs Jacob Hoefs 6'1" | SG Mountain Vista | 2024 State CO – Mountain Vista
Hoefs proved efficient within his role, especially effective at pushing the pace in transition for layup attempts. The guard has excellent body control in the air, capable of scoring through fouls and contests. Hoefs does everything in a timely and efficient manner, wasting no time on drives, attacking closeouts with urgency off the catch. While attacking downhill, although quick Hoefs is under control, capable as a facilitator passing to baseline cutters. Defensively, the guard is both strong and laterally quick, especially valuable at deflecting the ball away from drivers.

Johnson is a very talented shotmaker, capable of rising up into shots off the catch or dribble. The guard lights out beyond the arc, unfazed by contests. He boasts quickness with the ball, utilizing simple moves to leverage his shooting gravity for driving lanes. There is no doubt that Johnson has flown under the radar in recent years. By all accounts throughout the summer, the guard is primed for a productive senior year.
