Blake Varney – Severance – 24 MD Team Daum – 2026
Varney proved capable as a complementary scoring threat, actively moving in space and being a capable scoring threat off of a couple dribbles. The 5’11 guard is a quick ball handler, capable of deploying an array of combo moves to freeze his defender. Given his immediate shooting gravity, defenses are forced to stay high on him, allowing him ample space on driving lanes towards the rim. On multiple possessions, Varney faded into catch and shoot threes, relocating his feet fairly quickly for the shot attempt. The guard competes on the defensive end, proving quick enough laterally to deter opposing ball handlers and two-guards.
Cam Smith – Windsor – 24 MD Team Daum – 2026
Smith brought notable value as a perimeter defender for Daum, proving especially quick laterally. The 5’8 guard from Windsor embodies everything you could want as a coach, through his constant hustle and willingness to maximize his impact off the ball. Through Smith’s couple games I saw, he was a pest at the point of attack, hounding opposing ball handlers everywhere. No matter what opposing lead guards tried, Smith stayed on them like glue and provided active hands to disrupt any potential advantage from his opponent. On offense, he showed value knocking down three point jump shots off the catch, having no trouble letting it fly a few feet behind the arc. Although undersized, Smith brings plenty of intangibles that so many backcourt prospects lack.
Mason Eager – Kelly Wals – Colorado Collective – 2026
Eager is a well rounded score first guard, boasting a compact form along the perimeter. There is no doubt that the Wyoming based guard is a knockdown shooter, capable off the catch or flowing into such shots off of movement. The guard was equally capable attacking downhill, getting to jumpstops to facilitate perimeter scoring threats.
Jack Tomlinson Jack Tomlinson 5'10" | CG Rock Canyon | 2027 CO – Elevation Flyers – 2027
Tomlinson is always shot ready, proving effective as a complementary shotmaker. The guard did well maneuvering into open space without the ball, consistent with the Flyers style of play. He hit a big time shot on the second day, sending the Flyers into a playoff bracket. Specifically, Tomlinson attacked the closeout approaching his position in the corner, before driving into a floater of which the defense fouled. Of course, Tomlinson was stone cold, securing the free throw for the team with only a couple seconds left in the game. Ultimately, Tomlinson is a notable complementary scorer who remains shot ready off the catch.
Kevin Lewis Kevin Lewis 5'10" | PG Mullen | 2026 CO – Mullen – PLUTO Prospects – 2026
Lewis was a steady playmaker through the event, capable of utilizing his low center of gravity for driving lanes and defensive stops. Standing right around 5’9, the guard is already strong, not afraid of contact. With his quick first step, Lewis was a consistent downhill scoring threat. While in the paint, the guard had options in his toolbox, either getting to his floater or maneuvering into a euro step around the defense.
