The game took place in Briarcrest Christian's gym for BCAT Team Camp I. The big news for BGA this off-season is the addition of <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1368094' first='Arnett' last='Hayes']</strong>. Arnett is a wildly talented point guard with a Top 15 game in the state. He is not far off of the best point guards in Tennessee. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><a href="https://www.ballertv.com/streams/battle-ground-academy-vs-whitehaven-20230616185507-jh1ttx6t">Game Film</a></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In this particular game, Arnett proved he will continue to get to the rim and earn placement at the free throw line. Considering the opponent, 4A Whitehaven, any success is sure to go over gangbusters in Battle Ground's district battles where the opponents are slower.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>How is <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1789005' first='Kavien' last='Jones']</strong> going to play as a senior? </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>If this game is any indication...pretty amazingly. The worry with Kavien, from my perspective, was always...is he tall enough to be a forward or light enough on his feet to be a wing. Well, he is going to be a 6-foot-5, 225-pound something. Absurdly strong. Fast in the open floor. Alas, he will be blocked in the OVC on occasion. He must figure out a way to be an effective low-post scorer when attacking 6-foot-8+ because that will be college life for him. Ideally, he will get pump fakes flying and keep using his low, strong base to establish and overpower.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Small, thin point guard <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2111660' first='Greyson' last='Williams']</strong> has a little wiggle to him. Coach Meyer likes to use him to initiate offense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Overall, Battle Ground Academy features a team capable of repeating their 2014 success. He might be able to help the 2023-2024 team some, but frankly the backcourt is stuffed with talent. Starting ahead of him currently are: Hayes, [player_tooltip player_id='2111660' first='Greyson' last='Williams'], <strong>Jack Duperrieu</strong>, [player_tooltip player_id='1901670' first='Jake' last='Harney'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2249601' first='Lawson' last='Gillespie']</strong> is another player with similar skills. <strong>Jackson Hammontree </strong>too can play a little, but the team just is not structured favorably for him to get meaningful minutes.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
