I will be posting evaluations based on what I observed from every team that participated in the DMV Freshman Showcase. Here is a look at those who played on Team 6.

Quimar Crittenden | Churchland (VA)

Crittendon was definitely one of my favorite finds at this event. I continue to be amazed by how well he was able to use either hand. Another thing I noticed was that Crittendon is equally adept at finishing whether planting from one or two feet.

Ryder Gilfillan | St. Mary's Ryken (MD)

Gilfillan is a 6'4" forward who was most effective when receiving the ball on the right block. He had a couple of nice finishes with his right hand during which he showcased a soft touch off the glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2139476' first='Ricky' last='Goings'] | Lanham Christian (MD)

My favorite aspect of Goings' overall game is his defense. He is quick laterally and menacing at the point of attack. Goings picked at least a couple of pockets and went coast to coast multiple times.

Benjamin Gottfried | Sandy Spring (MD)

I noticed that Gottfried has efficient shot mechanics. There isn't a whole lot of wasted movement from catch to shot. In addition to being able to shoot, the 6'4" forward also provides value as a rebounder.

Jordyn Houston | Woodside (VA)

I believe Houston has plenty of long-term upside. He is currently 6'6" with a frame that will only grow more powerful over time. Houston finished with either hand in the lane and showcased a soft touch on a corner 3 that was all net.

Elijah Hughes | Covenant Life (MD)

Hughes impressed me with his overall activity level throughout the event. He was particularly relentless on the offensive glass.

[player_tooltip player_id='2884163' first='Stephen' last='Mayernik'] | WT Woodson (VA)

Mayernik is a 5'11" guard who impressed me with his court vision and unselfishness. He also proved that he could be dangerous as a floor spacer.
