Player Standouts

| G | Class of 2024 | Victory | @CasonLorenzo1
No doubt about it, Cason is one of the better guard prospects to come out of Polk County in the last 10 years. He can do it all on the court offensively and has even seen his defensive game step up. The FAU commit puts on a show each time he takes the court and will look to earn a state title to finish his high school campaign.

Similar to Cason, Celiscar could be the most promising recruit listed in Polk’s Edition of the Player of the Year. His overall game is already developed enough to contribute at the next level but the senior has another year to continue improving. He can score the rock in a variety of ways: natural shooting stroke with an understanding of how to use his length to his advantage. Seems like he continues to grow into his frame and is set up for a big-time senior season as WH can make it back to states.

Rosado has made his way over to play for a great basketball program at Bartow High. He has a deep offensive bag that he used all last season to average 26.4 points per game, 3.8 assists, and 3.1 steals for Lake Wales High, good enough for 5th best for juniors. His overall game continues to improve despite his smaller frame and always plays with a dog in his heart. Rosado is money from the three-point range and somebody you have to get a hand up or go to zone or he will get hot.
Daniel Thompson Daniel Thompson 6'2" | PG Santa Fe Catholic | 2024 FL | CG | Class 2024 | Bartow | @AlwaysDanny11
Thompson is one of the top deadly snipers behind the arc in Polk County. He hit 6 threes in the Yellow Jacket’s first matchup and followed that with a solid 13-point game. Thompson has a college-ready frame and disciplined mindset to make a roster at the next level. Still has time to develop his overall game but his reliable shooting and defense will help Bartow this fall season.
Jamie Phillips

Jr | CG | Class of 2024 | Winger Haven | @PhillipsJamie_0
Phillips could be the most versatile prospect in the state as he uses his frame to be effective in various categories. He’s a pure scorer who can shoot the three or get to his spots around the rim. It’s the vision and ability to find teammates that stand out for me. Phillips averaged 6.0 assists per game combined with 16.1 points per game and 6.3 rebounds last season for the Blue Devils. Another do-it-all type of player that can score in the pick-and-roll offense and create plays with ball handling and body control.
Quinton Wilson | G | Class of 2028 | VCA
Wilson is just an 8th grader but had the most bounce I’ve seen at the tournament. His athleticism was evident in warm-ups after putting on a show at the rim during layup lines. That explosiveness only transitioned in real time as he dunked it a couple of times which drew reactions from the VCA fans. Got to get my eyes on him this season as he’s becoming known nationally.
Thok Timothy | F | Class of 2026 | VCA | @thok_timothy
Where did VCA find this kid? Wow. A true rising sophomore who is still putting everything together but has all the tools in the shed to be a big-time ball player. Timothy is 6-8 with long arms but also can move fluid as he displayed while switching on pick and rolls to take on guards. He’s a sleeper for now but Prep Hoops will cover his evolution.
Best of the rest:
Zay Mosley | CG | Class of 2025 | Winter Haven | @darealzaymosley
Mosley put someone’s lay-up on the backboard as I was walking into the gym. With Mosley added, Winter Haven seemed to have reloaded for another run at the state championship.

Andino is the deadliest shooter in Polk County, hands down. Didn’t get to watch much of the second game but Andino will surely look to have a big-time senior season to raise his stock for potential college offers.

Eaton had a solid weekend at the Bartow Fall Shootout as he was able to show off his post game and good footwork around the rim. He averaged 12 points and a double-double for Cypress Creek.
