The limited scrimmages on Wednesday and Thursday night were filled with high level head-to-head matchups. Here are our takeaways on the prospects we saw from the middle portion of the U.S.
Braden Frager Braden Frager 6'6" | SF Lincoln Southwest | 2025 State #211 Nation NE , 2025, Southwest (NE), ETG
Frager is a do-it-all type of prospect who will play a sort of glue-guy role at the Division I level. At 6-feet-6 with a good pop of athleticism around the basket, Frager is a lane-filler and above the rim finisher who surprises unsuspecting defenders with his bounce. He also showed that he can score in the half-court on physical drives and finishes to the basket.
Carlsheon Young Carlsheon Young 6'5" | CG Midwest City | 2025 State #83 Nation OK , 2025, Newcastle (OK), Team Trae Young
Young is a talented left-handed point guard with craftiness and feel off the dribble. He gets to his spots with ease and is nearly impossible to keep from getting to his strong hand on drives due to his smooth but explosive change of speeds. Young uses his creative finishing ability around the basket to neutralize shot blockers.
Dezmon Briscoe Dezmon Briscoe 6'9" | PF Crispus Attucks | 2025 State #107 Nation IN , 2025, Crispus Attucks (IN), Indiana Elite
Briscoe was an offensive threat in multiple ways. At 6-feet-8 with a fluid shooting stroke and good mobility in ball-screen action, the rising junior can stretch the floor off the catch but is also a capable pick-and-pop shooting threat when setting middle ball screens.
Isaiah Johnson Isaiah Johnson 6'7" | SF Totino-Grace | 2024 State #135 Nation MN , 2024, Totino-Grace (MN), D1 Minnesota
Johnson-Arigu was one of the more physical two-way prospects that we saw. At 6-feet-7 with a strong 190-pound frame, the rising senior uses his physical tools, combined with his high motor and athleticism, to impact the game as a lane-filler or rim-runner in transition where he can slash his way to the basket and absorb and finish through contact. Johnson-Arigu was one of the better offensive and defensive rebounders we saw in this event, as well.
Malachi Moreno Malachi Moreno 6'11" | C Great Crossing | 2025 State #21 Nation KY , 2025, Great Crossing (KY), Indiana Elite
In my opinion, Moreno was one of the more intriguing long-term prospects in this event. At 7-feet with fluid athleticism, great transition mobility and high level feel as a rim protector, the rising junior has all the tools to be an impact high major five-man. Moreno was blocking shots but also controlling the possession and looked to throw quick outlet passes to ball handlers. Moreno has a great set of hands and quick leaping ability off the floor which allows him to catch and finish before opposing defenders can react.
