With that in mind, below is a review of five prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania who we are looking forward to scouting again here in August.
Colin Boyle – 6’0” / 2024 / Notre Dame Green Pond / PA Coalition / Point Guard: After a solid 2022-23 season, Boyle was named 2nd Team All-Colonial League. During the spring and summer, he turned heads on the grassroots circuit with his floor general style of guard play. Then at the “A-Town Throwdown,” Boyle hung 37 points on Northeast Philly and was the talk of the tournament. We were impressed by his surprising quickness and his ability to score at all 3 levels. Boyle is generating interest from D3 schools, but college coaches from all levels should have this prospect on their radar.
Omar Davis Omar Davis 6'3" | SG Overbrook | 2024 State PA – 6’3” / 2024 / Overbrook / League Bound Elite / Shooting Guard: Davis first grabbed our attention back in June at Philly HS Live. Now after his outstanding performances at the “A-Town Throwdown” he is a prospect that must be added to our 2024 rankings. He can score off the bounce (going right or left), drains threes at a high clip and is excellent in transition. The improvement in his ability to go left on dribble drives has added a new dimension to his game. At the other end of the court, Davis is a major plus defender with a knack for generating steals and deflections.
Shermar Killen Jr Shermar Killen Jr 6'1" | PG Muhlenberg | 2025 PA – 6’1” / 2025 / Muhlenberg / PMT Warriors / Combo Guard: Killen is fast backcourt prospect with a solid frame who plays with a physical edge. That trifecta enables Killen to excel in transition as he gets downhill quickly and can absorb contact at the rack. In the half court Killen creates opportunities off the dribble for himself and teammates. He also has shown the ability to slash to the basket for a catch and lay-in. Killen is just scratching the surface of his potential and we will certainly have an eye on him here in August.
Ty Mishock Ty Mishock 5'10" | PG Spring Ford | 2024 PA – 6’1” / 2024 / Spring Ford / K-Low Elite / Combo Guard: After three-years as a starter at Devon Prep, Mishock (13.5 ppg.; 39% on 3PAs) is transferring to a Spring Ford team that is already loaded with backcourt talent. So, it will be interesting to watch this month and see how this smooth combo-guard fits alongside SF standouts EJ Campbell EJ Campbell 6'0" | CG Spring Ford | 2024 State PA and Jacob Nguyen Jacob Nguyen 6'3" | SG Spring Ford | 2025 State PA . Mishock’s versatility should make for a smooth transition. He can pop jumpers from all over the court, score off the dribble and play as a distributing point guard. He recently received an offer from Lehigh.
Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 6'3" | SG Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA – 6’3″ / 2024 / Malvern Prep / Philly Pride UAA / Shooting Guard: Here in August, we will be watching arguably the hottest backcourt prospect in the region to see just how high he can push his recruiting stock.Williams posted a monster July circuit in which he displayed an improved ability to attack the rim off the dribble. His elevated level of play has produced offers from Iona, Hofstra, Northeastern, Binghamton and Columbia. Then this past weekend Williams was named the MVP of the “A-Town Throwdown” after he led Malvern Prep (7-0) to the tournament title. Williams is a walking bucket and with this flood of momentum behind him, his upside appears limitless.
