Jaylen Wilkerson Jaylen Wilkerson 6’0″ | CG Walkertown | 2024 State NC is an emerging guard prospect to get to know out of Walkertown High given his pedigree for operating in the backcourt as a shooter, rebounder and defender. He’s an active presence that never stops moving on either end of the floor with his athleticism and length at 6’0. He does well to move without the ball to find ways to impact the game with his shot-making and ability to finish around the rim. He’s got room to grow a ton in the Walkertown rotation after producing 14.4 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 2.0 APG and 1.0 SPG on 47 percent shooting from 3-point range in 2022-23.

Nik Edwards Nik Edwards 6’3″ | SF Greenfield | 2024 State NC has had himself a productive summer on the grassroots scene with Team Trezz Edwards. He’s a versatile prospect at 6-foot-3 with a nice blend of athleticism, length and toughness in the painted area. He’s come a long way on the wing with his ability to knock down shots off the catch and defend multiple spots on the floor. He does well to keep plays alive with his ability to crash the boards offensively when the ball isn’t in his hands and has shown he can operate in the paint and finish in traffic. He’s a prospect that DII and DIII programs in the region should get eyes on in a hurry this season with Greenfield School.
Derrick Eley Derrick Eley 6’0″ | CG Hopewell | 2024 State NC is set to play a big role in the Hopewell High rotation in 2023-24 with the departure of a key scorer from a season ago. Eley will have his work cut out for him in running the lead guard spot as he looks to end his high school career on a high note. He produced 10.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.1 apg and 1.4 spg on 42 percent shooting from the field. While he isn’t a volume shooter from deep, he’s shown he’s capable of knocking down shots on the outside, shooting 34 percent in 2022-23. He’ll definitely need to contribute in a variety of ways for Hopewell this season and remains a target for DII and DIII programs in the region to get eyes on.
An athlete on both the football field and hardwood, Alex Moye Alex Moye 6’3″ | SF Farmville Central | 2024 State NC is the epitome of a prospect that plays a hard-nosed brand of basketball and brings the energy on both ends of the floor. He runs with Farmville Central High and is likely to be a key contributor in 2023-24. He likes to defend a multitude of positions given his strong frame at 6-foot-2 and has shown he’s capable of holding his own in the painted area as a finisher and rebounder. DIII and JUCO programs would be wise to get eyes on him given his potential development as a utility wing player.
Wyatt DeGraaf Wyatt DeGraaf 6’10” | C Cary Academy | 2024 State NC has been mentioned a few times over the past few months on the grassroots scene with Grassroots NC. He’s shown flashes of turning a corner of sorts as he’s taken command of his game in the painted area as a finisher around the rim, rim protector and two-way rebounding threat. He’s learning how to use his size to his advantage to make an impact on the court and as he does, look for his recruitment to grow in the 2024 class. He’s a name for DII and DIII programs to get to know given his size at 6-foot-10.
