After a really nice spring/summer with Lincoln Supreme , Ben Ehlers Ben Ehlers PF Crete | 2024 State NE finds himself in the top 30 of the newest update of the 2024 rankings. In the past couple of months, Ehlers has picked up offers from some of the top NAIA programs in the region, including Briar Cliff, Morningside and Doane. At 6’6, Ehlers is very mobile on the wing, and can play several positions. While his biggest strength is slashing and driving to the basket, his outside shot is developing nicely. Ehlers is also capable of guarding several different positions because of his size, athleticism and footwork. Crete will be a class B contender this year, and Ehlers will look to help lead them to a state championship.
Rylan Rodriguez Rylan Rodriguez 6’6″ | PF Omaha Bryan | 2024 State NE is an incredibly intriguing prospect. This summer, Rodriguez was a consistent force with OSA Klein. At all of 6’6, he is super mobile, runs the floor really well, and plays above the rim. Several times this summer, I saw Rodriguez take the ball coast to coast after grabbing a defensive rebound. While he has a ton of potential, his skillset is developing nicely. Whatever college lands Rodriguez will be getting a steal. His upside is through the roof. I expect him to have a very nice senior season for Omaha Bryan.
Grant Urbanek Grant Urbanek 6’3″ | SG Millard North | 2024 State NE had a really nice summer with NBDA. Urbanek fit really well playing alongside and against scholarship level talent. Urbanek’s biggest strength is his outside shooting ability. He has a lightning quick release and deep range to go along with it. His footwork off of the catch is efficient, which helps him get his shot off against longer defenders. Defensively, Urbanek is an incredibly tough kid. He plays with a ton of pride and seems to have a chip on his shoulder. Look for Urbanek to have a much bigger role this season at Millard North.
Jordan Gassen Jordan Gassen 6’1″ | PG Millard West | 2024 State NE is a prospect to watch this winter for Millard West. He had an efficient spring/summer for OSA Travis, with several outings in the double figures. He is a scrappy guard that finishes really well around the rim. For his size, he is a great rebounder and a very underrated defender. Gassen is an essential guy to have on your team because he values winning above all else. I expect him to have a nice senior season at Millard West, and he will look to lead his squad to a winning season.
