Steven has really started to get noticed. He asserted himself more and more as the season went on. Now at the CHSAA team camp and through summer events he is showing all the hard work is paying off. Because of his size he was always an outstanding rebounder and rim protector, but now he does it with skill and athleticism and he still has the size inside. He is able to block shots and still gain control of the ball. Great hands he is able to score off of lobs in traffic and flush it. Possesses a nice face up mid range game. Cleans up a lot of misses with put backs. Holds many impressive offers. St John’s, South Carolina,Virginia Tech, Illinois, OK State, Georgia Tech and many others.
The New York State player of the year will get into these rankings like he is bolting onto college program recruiting radars. A strong bodied wiry wing. A three level scorer. He can get to the rim smoothly or with power. Has an excellent release point on his jumper with smooth follow through. He holds offers from Florida, Baylor, Alabama, St John’s, Miami, Florida State, UConn, Michigan.
Thankfully from this list the big men still have a place in the game. That’s what Godswill is. A skilled post player. He can make quick spins moves off the baseline block or paint and finish with either hand. A force defensively. Can block or alter shots plus does a really good job defending the post. Has great size and uses it to step out and defend. Holds offers from Fordham , USC, St Bonnaventure, Maryland, Texas Tech, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Arizona Tech.
After transferring into the CHSAA no player had a bigger impact in the league than Qadir. I saw him first at a team camp and he quickly caught my eye and a lot of the opposing coaches were asking about him. Excellent size can defend the paint. Has that ability to block and alter shots. Does an outstanding job rebounding the ball on both ends of the floor. Qadir has excellent footwork in the post but can also step out and hit the mid range jumper. Getting more comfortable off the catch with his three ball. He made an impact in his first season and the sky is the limit as he continues to impress during the spring and summer. Currently holds an offer from Bryant, but trust me on this one, he better show up on your recruiting offer board quickly . Right now he is a steal for someone to come in on. This list will grow.
Nasir is a player colleges fall in love with quickly when they watch him. At the CHSAA team camp two schools personally told me they had their offers for him ready and really would like to wrap him up quickly. He is a guard with good size who can stroke it from beyond the arc. Deep range and the ability to handle.the ball in traffic. Can split defenders and find teammates or score the ball himself. Holds offers from Robert Morris,George Mason, Manhattan, LaSalle, Stony Brook, Northern Illinois, High Point.
I have my favorite players and Jakai is one of them. An electric guard who can score from different spots and multiple ways. Excellent handle can change speed and direction really quickly. Splits defenders and then pull up with his potent mid range jumper. Can side step or step back for a three. Rebounds the ball well from the guard position. Currently holding one offer from Bryant but I expect to see that list grow a really great get for a mid major program.
Another player who made an immediate impact in the CHSAA in his first season. He showed last season a competitiveness to never back down . A tough strong player, he is really good at catching the ball in transition and driving hard to the rim. He can put the ball on the deck and finish through contact or traffic at the rim. A three level scorer with an exceptional mid range game. Very good rebounder on the defensive glass. I have been impressed with his ability to shoot the three in transition. One of those players when I’m walking out of an event the college coaches are talking about favorably.Currently holds offers from Marist, Rhode Island,Illinois, St John’s, Iona, UMASS, Fordham, Oregon,GW, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Michigan, Missouri.
Andreo is a player we have reported on since his freshman season. On a very successful program at Liverpool Andreo can score inside or out. Outstanding mid range game. Handles the ball well, can get into the lane. Can guard multiple position with his size. Currently holds offers from Stony Brook and Bryant but should see a lot more coming after a successful event season.
