After an exciting season of high school basketball action in the Volunteer State, it's time to take a look back at some of the top performers in each position that made their presence known on the court last year. Today, we will be continuing my "Volunteer State Standouts" series as we continue to explore some of the most impressive returning talents in the state. After breaking down some rising point guard and combo guard prospects, here's my list of the top 2024 shooting guards in Tennessee to watch for this upcoming season.

At the top of my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1381652' first='Taj' last='Kimber'], a 6-foot-3 shooting guard at Fulton High School. Kimber was one of the most explosive weapons on the Falcons' roster during his junior stint of high school basketball last year. In addition to impressive size, speed and versatility on both sides of the floor, Kimber impressed me with his footwork, ability to pull up for jumpers and his toughness along the perimeter. The rising senior out of Knoxville, TN. was without question one of the top shooting guard prospects in the state of Tennessee last season and should not be underestimated on either side of the court this upcoming season.

Claiming the number two spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1140778' first='Cooper' last='Haynes'], a 6-foot-3 shooting guard at Briarcrest Christian High School. With excellent size, speed and deceptive footwork, Haynes showcased pin-point accuracy from the perimeter and was an especially notable team player, contributing strong ball control and smart passing. The rising senior out of Eads, TN. also caught my attention with his ability to disrupt opponents on the other side with his size, making a huge difference while fighting for rebounds underneath the basket last season. After a commanding performance, Haynes is definitely an intriguing shooting guard in the state to keep an eye on.

In the number three spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1213159' first='Tre' last='Davis'], a 6-foot-3 shooting guard at Lausanne Collegiate High School. What stands out about Davis is his outstanding size, speed and explosiveness from both around the perimeter and in the paint. Davis additionally impresses with his precise decision-making ability and overall team effort, passing the ball when his teammates have an open look. The rising senior out of Memphis, TN. also made a big difference in making stops on defense and grabbing second chance opportunities. After a strong season, Davis is definitely a shooting guard prospect in the Volunteer State to keep an eye on this upcoming season.

Finishing in fourth place on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1317053' first='Odell' last='Bradley IV'], a 6-foot-2 shooting guard at Beech High School. Bradley was one of the most significant playmakers on the Buccaneers' roster during his junior season of high school basketball last year. With outstanding size, speed and ball control, Bradley was a highly explosive shooter both from the perimeter and in the paint, showcasing pin-point accuracy all season long. The rising senior out of Hendersonville, TN. additionally caught my attention with his ability to be disruptive on the other side of the floor, contributing a solid defensive effort. After a strong showcase last year, Bradley is certainly an intriguing shooting guard in the state to watch more closely next season.

Coming in at number five on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1121408' first='Jaden' last='Clark'], a 6-foot-5 shooting guard at Nolensville High School. Clark made a significant impact on both sides of the floor for the Knights during his junior stint of high school basketball last year. In addition to excellent size, speed and physicality on both sides, Clark impresses me with his strong ball control, smart passing and his pin-point accuracy from along the perimeter and in the paint. The rising senior out of Nolensville, TN. additionally caught my eye with his defensive toughness and ability to muscle his way to the ball for second chance opportunities. After an outstanding season, Clark is without question an in-state shooting guard prospect in the Volunteer State to watch more closely this upcoming season.
