The more I see Jadyn Cascio-Jensen Jadyn Cascio-Jensen 6’2″ | SG Fremont | 2024 State NE play, the more impressed I am. The 6’4 SG out of Bellevue West is super skilled with nice length and athleticism. Cascio-Jensen’s most translatable asset is his outside shooting ability. He has an excellent outside jump shot with the ability to score off the bounce and off the catch. I’ve seen Cascio-Jensen hit three or four in a row a couple times this Summer. He can get hot really fast. If the defense starts to close out too hard, he is skilled enough to put the ball on the deck and create his own shot in the mid range, or at the rim. Cascio-Jensen also has the bounce to throw it down on someone’s head. He is an extremely impressive prospect who is improving at a fast rate.
When talking about best shooters in the state, Neal Mosser Neal Mosser 6’2″ | SG Millard North | 2024 State NE ‘s name needs to be brought into the conversation. He ended his AAU season on the right note this weekend, going absolutely ballistic from beyond the arc in Kansas City. This past year at powerhouse Millard North, Mosser finished as the only player in the 50/40/90 club in Nebraska’s Class A. This spring/summer, he has also shown improvements in his game in other areas. In the times I was able to watch him play with ETG, Mosser did a great job at facilitating and playmaking for his teammates. He can see the floor really well, and has an incredibly high IQ. Mosser should be a high priority for a lot of schools in the region, and will look to have a monster Senior year at Millard North.
I can’t say enough good things about Aidan McDowell Aidan McDowell 6’4″ | SG Crete | 2024 State NE . He plays hard, moves without the ball extremely well, defends, creates for himself, rebounds, passes with a purpose, and can shoot the lights out. Even though McDowell is known for his ability to score, he impacts the game in a variety of different ways. Aside from his skillset, his passion and approach to the game separate him from a lot of his peers. Look for his stock to continue to rise, as he had a tremendous June/July with Crete & Lincoln Supreme National. McDowell’s consistent play this Summer has put him in a great spot going into his Senior season at Crete.
I’ve heard several people rave about Carson Jones Carson Jones 6’2″ | SG Creighton Prep | 2024 State NE this summer. The guard out of Creighton Prep has had a monster July, posting huge scoring numbers for his OSA Travis team. While he started the summer as a relatively quiet name, he has made some serious noise, and has boosted his stock tremendously. Jones’ ability to shoot the ball from the perimeter is among the best of the best in the state, as he’s had several performances this month with 6+ made threes. If he continues his play in the fall/winter with Creighton Prep, he should have several options of schools to choose from.
CJ Mitchell CJ Mitchell 5’10” | PG Omaha Westside | 2024 State NE is one of the craftiest guards in the state, regardless of class. Like everyone else on this list, Mitchell has had a fantastic summer, and is deserving of more attention. Offensively, he is a tough cover because of his speed and shiftiness with the ball in his hands. Mitchell does a great job at getting to the rim and is a very skilled finisher around the basket. He also has quick hands on defense, and does a great job at poking balls free and stepping into passing lanes. Mitchell has great vision in transition, and excels at handling full court pressure. As one of the leaders on the ETG Midwest team this summer, Mitchell handled his responsibilities very well, and put up some large scoring numbers too. He is a prospect to keep an eye on this coming fall/winter with Omaha Westside.
