Keegan Van Kauwenberg – 2025 Wisconsin Crusaders
A 6’5 plus shooter who ran off several made threes in a pair of games I watched. Keegan can score multiple ways but he is deadly from behind the arc. During “The Last Dance” he had several games of making multiple trey balls from deep, his combination of size and skill for his class makes him a bonified D1 prospect.
Eli Ellis – Kyle Guy 2025
Ellis had maybe the best shooting performance of the summer hitting 8 threes in the first game on Friday (37 points) and then repeating that feat with another 8 on Saturday (39 points). At 5’11 he’s an off-guard who can stroke from NBA range. He had a terrific showing at The Last Dance. Can become a special player at a D2 with how well he shoots it.
Mitch Humphrey- GPA 2024
Maybe the best shooting performance from an in-state prospect would be Mitch’s 7 threes in a win over Mac Irvin Fire during the Summer Challenge. At 6’6 Humphrey is sniper. He gets his feet set immediately off the catch and the next thing you see is the ball going through the net. Mitch had a very consistent summer and should garner attention from D2s and possibly some LM D1s who value shooting on the roster.
Colin Gerrity- Illinois Attack 2024
Gerrity has been very consistent on our circuit for the past two years. This summer he displayed his shooting prowess at “The Dance” and “Grit Finals”. Colin is a 6’3 guard who has been consistent at making shots from behind the arc as well as off the bounce in the mid-range. He is very good at relocating when defenders close out on him. Colin can score the ball multiple ways and his skillset is sure to translate to the college level.
Enrique Torrez- Pro Skills San Antonio
Torrez had some good moments at “The Last Dance” He was another player who made three or more shots from behind the arc in each game during the event. Enrique moves well off the ball and usually gets clean looks because he’s often two passes away on plays. He takes quality shots and didn’t miss many. A small school prospect to monitor with some upside to his game
Alex Miller – IBA Illinois Stars 2024
Miller is another bigger shooter who made the list. At 6’5 Alex is a lanky wing player that can make shots on and off the ball. He is at his best when in catch-and-shoot moments from either corner on the court. If you close out too hard on him Miller will drive around you very easily and score at the rim. Alex gets shots off pretty quickly and before you turn and look to see if it went in he’s already back on defense. Miller is a small school target that several coaches got a look at during the Last Dance and Grit Finals.
James Pilapil- IL TWolves 2024
Pilapil is a quiet assassin. The 5’11 guard can run off 4 threes and you still wouldn’t believe he had 12 points. James is a solid guard who just plays the game without much fanfare. He scored 23 points in a half in our “Last Dance” event knocking down four three-pointers and scoring the rest off spin fadeaways and hard drives to the rack. Pilapil is at best coming off screens and flares to get his shot off. James right now is a small school college prospect who can become more than just a shooter by the high school season’s end.
