The three-day event featured matchups between some of the top programs from the Adidas 3SSB and Under Armour Association circuits. Below is a breakdown of the top guard performers from Friday’s action.
Ari Fulton Ari Fulton 6'7" | SF Westover | 2024 State NC , Team Curry
I put Fulton in the “power wing” type of category due to his physicality when driving and finishing in transition and half court settings. The 6-foot-6 rising senior has a well-built frame and he knows how to use it when powering through and absorbing contact in the lane. What I liked most about Fulton was his willingness to crash the offensive glass and create second chance opportunities for his team.
Brody Kozlowski Brody Kozlowski 6'8" | SF Corner Canyon | 2024 State #103 Nation UT , Utah Prospects
Kozlowski has been one of the hotter names on the recruiting board all summer long and this event did nothing but enhance that. The 6-foot-7 forward flashed his stretch-four skill-set Friday at Coronado as was nearly automatic on three-point shots with his feet set. Kozlowski is a great ball screener and popper into catch and shoot three’s but can also put the ball on the deck, attack the rim and absorb and finish through contact.
Jaxon Johnson Jaxon Johnson 6'8" | SF Alta | 2024 State #106 Nation UT , Utah Prospects
Johnson is another Utah player whose recruitment has been on fire. The long, wiry 6-foot-9 forward is a floor spacer with his catch and shoot touch from three-point range while his length, lateral mobility and defensive IQ make us believe he can be a multi-positional defender at the next level. Johnson’s offensive versatility is evident with his passing ability and willingness to screen to get himself or a teammate open.
Justin Johnson Justin Johnson 6'7" | PF Doral | 2023 #229 Nation FL , SOH Elite
Johnson is a highly versatile wing whose fluid athleticism, ball skills, and feel off the bounce when creating for himself or teammates stood out to go along with his wiry 6-foot-8 frame. Johnson’s inside-out scoring feel was equally impressive as he knocked down perimeter jumpers to open up his driving lanes.
Khani Rooths Khani Rooths 6'7" | SF IMG Academy | 2024 State #16 Nation FL , New World
Rooths jumped out as one of the more skilled wings in the event and that, along with his length, effortless athleticism and all-around feel for the game makes us think he’s also one of the highest upside players we saw. Rooths has dribble and score ability in the lane with mid-range jumpers and downhill attacks to the rim but he also flashed vision and playmaking feel at 6-feet-8.
