June 23rd-25th I watched the prestigious Section-7. The Section-7 is quickly becoming the top NFHS stop from around the country which features mostly West Coast teams. There were 166 talented teams in 10 pools of 16 teams plus 6 prep teams from around the country.

Here were some of the top seniors I viewed:

[player_tooltip player_id='1498372' first='Vyctorius' last='Miller'] AZ Compass Prep

Arguably the best single game I viewed. He scored from all levels with high level dunks, mid-range pull-ups in traffic, deep threes and dribble drives showing off his full arsenal. He has ascended in everything he has been a part of recently.

[player_tooltip player_id='1123040' first='Anthony' last='Batson Jr'] Notre Dame Prep

A freaky athletic wing (who happened to win the dunk contest). He is a top notch defender to rebound, get deflections and block shots better then most players his height. He can turn the corner and get to the basket with a quicker first step. His body control is next level stuff in traffic to finish with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='1336097' first='Braylon' last='Johnson'] Pinnacle

A unique power forward plays as a facilitator. He has advanced court vision for his position. He defends multiple positions and can score from inside and out. He is posting up more then ever and getting more comfortable with his back to the basket. He will still face-up and go to work.

[player_tooltip player_id='994680' first='Jai' last='Anthoni Bearden'] Sunnyslope

A versatile small forward is the glue guy for the one of the top teams in the state. He defends multiple positions for them, will catch some alley-oops, scores near the hoop with put backs and layups and shows terrific activity on both sides of the court. Stock is trending up.

[player_tooltip player_id='994006' first='Styles' last='Phipps'] St. Mary's

One of the top guards in the AIA backed it up with three level scores. Tough on-ball defense with steals that led to layups. His handle is on a string to get to his spots he wants to. He changes speeds so well and has a burst to blow past his defenders. When his perimeter jumper is falling, he is nearly impossible to stop.

[player_tooltip player_id='1312333' first='Kenny' last='White'] St. Mary's

A tough lefty shoots it with range with no conscious. He will make or miss two-three and keep shooting. He can makes reverse layups, he is great in transition and has a sneaky burst to the rim. Not many compete harder then him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1194267' first='Mitchell' last='Perkins'] Notre Dame Prep

A wider shouldered power forward with long arms. He is an animal on the glass and will score on offensive rebound put backs. He scores it smartly near the rim with ball fakes and has advanced post footwork.

[player_tooltip player_id='996166' first='Braeden' last='Speed'] Brophy Prep

One of the tougher two-way guards in the AIA. He physically looks stronger and gets downhill with his tighter handle and strength. He moves without the ball and cuts for buckets. He defends multiple positions, he makes plays for his teammates and is the heart and soul of the Broncos.

[player_tooltip player_id='1135515' first='Noah' last='Gifft'] Ironwood (Pictured)

A rapidly improving scoring guard. He is expanding his game and is not just that standstill shooter. He can shot fake and drive by with and-1's in contact. He has a good burst to score. He rarely takes bad shots and all of his offense is within the flow of the team. He constantly moves without the ball to free himself and fire off his pretty jumper. It is definitely his team this year as the go-to scorer. Another who is trending upwards.
