Hammond opens up our list of Top Big Men from the Phenom Hardwood Classic. He was terrific in a matchup with Upward Stars Upstate Harvey on Saturday Afternoon. Kaden had 9 Points, 8 Rebounds, and 4 Blocks in a 10 point win. Hammond has a very polished offensive game, thriving with his back-to-the-basket where he can finish over either shoulder. Hammond’s strong frame also allows him to make plays on the defensive end and control the glass.
Another big from Team CP3 E16 that had a good weekend was Hayden Assemian Hayden Assemian 6’8″ | PF Powdersville | 2025 State #186 Nation SC . Assemian is a physical and athletic big that uses these attributes to dominate the paint on both ends. Hayden also loves to put on a show at the rim catching lobs from teammates or doing it on his own. Hayden came off the bench on Saturday against Upward Harvey, and he was extremely effective going against the bench unit of the opposing team.
A third Team CP3 big makes this list, but this time it’s a 2024. Mabor had to play big minutes all weekend as CP3 had only 6 players, but it did not take away from his production. He is a big, physical, frame that can dominate the paint but also can step out and hit a jump shot. Against BSA Supreme on Saturday Afternoon, Mabor had a strong performance finishing with a 13 Point 10 Rebound Double-Double.
Although Smith might find himself as a wing at the next level, he is the premier paint presence for Team Charlotte 2024. He makes the list due to his ability to have an impact on the offensive end from both inside and out. Mason had a very good week at the UAA Finals in Cartersville, Georgia, and followed it up with a good weekend in Bermuda Run, North Carolina. He is involved off the ball on offense and is a good shooter on the move. Chattanooga and Hampton were among the schools impressed with Smith’s outing this weekend, as they both offered following the conclusion of the event.
Kowalski might be the most raw of the stand-out bigs from the Phenom Hardwood Classic, but he showed flashes of his potential all weekend long. Cooper had a big game against Run the Citi – who had much higher rated and athletic big men – on Saturday Morning. He finished with 20 Points and 9 Rebounds in a 5 point loss, but showed an ability to create for himself off the dribble and step out and hit jump shots. Kowalski received his first offer from Catawba College following his top performances on Saturday.
