Prep Hoops Florida scout Ross Van De Griek is in Atlanta covering the Elite 32 taking place at the Next Play 360 on Thursday. Here are his standouts from the first day of the event:
The 6-1 rising senior combo guard has been on a tear since returning from a wrist injury he sustained earlier in the summer. Codio bounced back with a 21-point outburst on 3 made 3-pointers for Game Speed Elite in a win over the Tennessee Panthers. His ability to develop his game into a primary scorer has peaked a ton of interest from the college coaches this summer.

The 5-8 rising sophomore combo guard was lights out from beyond the arc finishing with a game-high 42 points on six made 3-pointers for Tri-City Elite. He has all the tools to become a viable threat going into just his sophomore season as he can score from anywhere in the half court. His relentless ability on the defensive side of the basketball shows that he can be a college prospect in the near future.
The 6-0 rising senior guard proved why he is one of the top perimeter shooters in the upcoming class. He’s shifty and plays under complete control and poise every time he steps onto the floor. He has a nice shooting touch and finished with a team-high 22 points for Southeast Elite on Thursday. His versatility on the defensive end has continued to improve as he can defend multiple positions.

The 5-10 rising senior guard was proficient from beyond the arc going 4-of-8 from downtown finishing with a team-high 15 points in a win over Team Speights Gulf Coast. Moore was also initiating the offense by creating for his teammates and dishing out some nice assists as well. Look for Moore to have an impact weekend for COH Elite as he remains one of the underrated guards to watch heading into his senior season.

The 6-6 combo forward was very active on both ends of the floor for All Georgia Elite on Thursday as he finished with a game-high 20 points in the win. He can shoot from the perimeter as well as finish at the front of the rim as he uses his length as well as his strength to an advantage. He is expected to have a heavy recruitment as he gears up for his senior season.
The 6-1 rising senior combo guard is continuing to have an impressive summer for AOI Hoops finishing with a game-high 20 points in the win over Houston Topguns. Wilson has shown continuously that he can be a consistent threat from the perimeter as well as on the attack. Look for colleges to start showing their interest in Wilson before the month is over as he gears up for his senior season.

The 6-0 rising sophomore guard is fast and twitchy when he has the basketball in his hands. He showed a full mature attack for the basket and was unafraid to finish around the rim to absorb contact. Allen was scoring from all three levels and had a stellar mid-range game to add for his attributes. He plays with a great high IQ and loves to get his teammates involved in the action.
The 6-9 rising junior power forward is still developing his true position. He did it all on the defensive end whether it was his rebounding, shot blocking or limiting the opposition from getting any second chance scoring opportunities. Osayi continues to have a great summer for Southeast Elite and showed the college coaches that he can be a big time prospect. Keep an eye on this prospect as he gears up for his next two seasons at the high school level.
