After an exciting season of high school basketball action in the Bluegrass State, it's time to look back at some of the top performers on the court last year. After breaking down intriguing rising seniors in the point guard position, it's time to move onto a new position and a new group of talented standouts from the state. Without any further ado, here's my list of some highly explosive 2024 shooting guards in Kentucky to watch out for this upcoming season.

At the top of my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1407269' first='Braden' last='Hudson'], a 6-foot-3 shooting guard at Madison Southern High School. Hudson made huge strides on the court for the Eagles during his junior stint of high school basketball last year. In 32 contests, Hudson was the third-best scoring weapon and one of the better rebounders on the roster, recording a total 430 points and 133 rebounds, averaging 13.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. The rising senior out of Berea, KY. additionally shot 44.5% (153-344) from field goal range, 30.8% (56-182) from beyond the three-point line and 67.3% (68-101) from the free throw line. In addition to impressive size and speed, what stands out about Hudson is his well-balanced playstyle and focus on contributing to the team. After a solid year on the court, Hudson is definitely a shooting guard prospect in the state to watch out for.

Claiming a second place finish on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1849672' first='Ben' last='Godby'], a 6-foot-4 shooting guard at Somerset High School. Godby made a significant impact for the Briar Jumpers during his junior season of high school basketball last year. In 26 games, Godby was the second-best scoring machine and the top rebounder on the team, collecting a grand total of 463 points and 158 rebounds, averaging 17.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The rising senior out of Somerset, KY. additionally shot 49.6% (182-367) from the field, 32.1% (27-84) from beyond the arc and 69.2% (72-104) from the free throw line. What stands out about Godby is his size, speed and pin-point accurate shooting from both around the perimeter and in the paint. After showcasing his skillset last year, Godby is certainly worth keeping an eye on next season.

Finishing at number three on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1497250' first='Brenton' last='Moore'], a 6-foot-2 shooting guard at Jeffersontown High School. Moore made his presence known on both sides of the court for the Chargers during his junior stint of high school basketball last year. In 23 contests, Moore was one of the strongest scoring weapons and rebounders on the team, picking up a total of 198 points and 67 rebounds, averaging 8.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. With impressive size, speed and an excellent handle on the ball, Moore contributed excellent competitive energy, the ability to make smart passes and accuracy from around the perimeter. After a great year, Moore is definitely a shooting guard prospect in Kentucky to watch out for next season.

At number four on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='1503393' first='Reece' last='Holbrook'], a 5-foot-11 shooting guard at Louisville Collegiate High School. What stands out about Holbrook is his size, speed, footwork and explosiveness in the lane. Another aspect of his game that stands out is his effort to pass the ball when his teammates have open looks. Following a strong year on the court, Holbrook is certainly worth watching out for on the floor next season.

Coming in at number five on my list of standouts is [player_tooltip player_id='1587730' first='Trevion' last='Ross'], a 6-foot-2 shooting guard at North Hardin High School.
