At the 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, South Carolina the Indiana Elite program had five teams participating with three advancing to play on Sunday. Indiana Elite 15u played for a championship at 9:00 a.m. while Indiana Elite Team Tradition 16u and Indiana Elite 17u got additional games in also. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground once again at the Rock Hills Sports and Event Center covering all of the action. Let’s dive on in.
Indiana Elite 15u
You can’t beat the opportunity to play for a championship at an event like the Adidas 3SSB Championships. Especially at a venue as great as the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center Arena, this is a memory that will last forever for the Indiana Elite 15u team and their families. Unfortunately, on Sunday, they fell just short of bring home a title as they fell 66-62 to New World 15u out of the Washington D.C. area.
Despite coming up short in the end, Indiana Elite actually led for the vast majority of the game. Jacob Spurlock Jacob Spurlock 6'3" | CG Boyd County | 2026 State KY (Boyd County H.S. 2026) set the tone early in what would be a big game for him and Keaton Aldridge Jr Keaton Aldridge Jr 6'4" | SF Cathedral | 2026 State IN . (Cathedral H.S. 2026) was playing through contact, finishing strong, and getting the foul line. Talented guard Neiko Mundey had the answers in the first half though for New World as they would keep it close and go into the halftime break trailing Indiana Elite 27-25.
The second half started with some hot shooting for Jacob Spurlock Jacob Spurlock 6'3" | CG Boyd County | 2026 State KY and Indiana Elite. After converting a four-point play, on his fourth three-pointer of the second half, the 6’3″ guard out of Kentucky gave Indiana Elite a 43-36 advantage with a little over 10 minutes left to play. Strong play from 6’6″ forward Jalyn Collingwood would start to chip away at the deficit for New World thought. He would go on to score 19 of his team-leading 23 points in the second half to lead the comeback effort.
Down the stretch, it largely came down to free throw shooting. Indiana Elite missed 16 free throws in the game while New World missed half as many. That disparity allowed New World to climb on top and hold on to win the 3SSB 15u Championship 66-62.
Jayln Collingwood led New World 15u with 23 points while Neiko Mundey added 19 points. For Indiana Elite 15u, Jacob Spurlock Jacob Spurlock 6'3" | CG Boyd County | 2026 State KY finished with 25 points to lead all scorers and Keaton Aldridge Jr Keaton Aldridge Jr 6'4" | SF Cathedral | 2026 State IN . added 17 points.
Indiana Elite 17u
After a tough loss on Saturday to Team Loaded VA 17u, Indiana Elite bounced back with an impressive 73-72 win over Mass Rivals to cap off their time at the 3SSB Championships on Sunday. Flory Bidunga Flory Bidunga 6'9" | C Kokomo | 2024 State #7 Nation IN (Kokomo H.S. 2024) used his size advantage to dominate the paint early and often against a smaller Mass Rivals team. He scored 16 points in the first half as Indiana Elite built a 10-point advantage. However, Michigan State commit Kur Teng got hot in the second half to nearly complete a comeback victory. He scored 24 of his team-leading 27 points in the second half including a flurry of three-pointers that gave Mass Rivals the lead late.
That lead would hold until the final seconds when Iowa commit Cooper Koch connected on a three-pointer with about 10 seconds remaining to secure the one-point, 73-72 win for Indiana Elite. Bidunga finished with 30 points to lead all scorers while Koch added 13 in the victory.
Indiana Elite Team Tradition 16u
Team Tradition 16u finished off their weekend at the 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill with a close 52-47 loss against Team Lillard. P.J. Douglas P.J. Douglas 6'4" | SF Jeffersonville | 2025 State IN (Jeffersonville H.S. 2025) and Shawn Boyd (Jeffersonville H.S. 2025) each finished the low-scoring affair with 9 points to lead Team Tradition.
