Peach Jam week I attended the 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill, South Carolina. There were many West Coast teams in the event and some of the teams had AZ players on their rosters. Plus I did watch a couple Arizona based younger teams.

Here were some of the PG standouts I observed at the 3SSB Championships:

[player_tooltip player_id='1591737' first='Daniel' last='Garza'] Willow Canyon (AZ Storm 15 Gold) (Pictured)

A pure point guard is almost a throw back facilitator. He is a phenomenal passer with next level live dribble passes. He works best off the pick and roll and seems to always find the open teammate. He has the catch three with a quicker release but his passing makes his game go. He plays an unselfish brand of ball and he can make a big leap up this year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1570935' first='Kyler' last='Frye'] McClintock (AZ Storm 15 Gold)

A scoring lead guard has a quick burst into the lane and will dime his teammates. He uses a fast first step and has a nice spin move to gain some separation from his defenders. He can pull-up from the three point line off the dribble and has a sneaky tight handle in close spaces.

[player_tooltip player_id='996175' first='Barron' last='Silsby'] Perry (Compton Magic)

A scoring lead guard is a sniper. He plays off of their star players and fires away when it comes his way. He is a low turnover high percentage shot taker and made many clutch free throws down the stretch. He, interesting enough, gets fouled on many threes per game and always seems to cash in at the line. He can step back occasionally but is best off the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555180' first='Delton' last='Prescott'] Sunnyslope (Compton Magic 15)

One of the top incoming point guards made his presence known. He can blow by his defenders with either hand. He has some serious speed in the open court. His ability to score in traffic makes him a tough cover since he often will touch the paint after he blew by his opponent with his quick first step. He is another next level live dribble passer.

[player_tooltip player_id='1555181' first='Adrian' last='Higuera'] Millennium (AZ Storm 15 Gold)

Another top of the food chain incoming freshman. He can pull-up from mid-range with a super tight handle. The ball is on a string for him and can grab a rebound and go to the basket or kick it to a teammate with either hand. He has a tight pull-up from mid-range off the dribble that is very hard to defend. He shows good body control to hang in the air and will throw players open.

[player_tooltip player_id='1875719' first='Simon' last='Gonzales'] Deer Valley (AZ Storm 15 Gold)

A lefty scoring lead guard with toughness. He can hit the three in bunches. He can get downhill with a burst and then can kick it. He gives hard ball fakes and will fire from deep. He is not afraid to grab a rebound in traffic and can blow by his defender and get to the rim.
