Football Commitments:
Yannick Smith Yannick Smith 6'3" | SG Summerville | 2024 State SC
Smith made an early pledge this week to attend East Carolina University to play football for the Pirates. Smith ranked #7 in the 2024 Palmetto State Rankings plays Wide Receiver for the Green Wave.
Josh Williams Josh Williams 6'0" | CG Westside | 2024 State SC
Williams will head up to Chattanooga after high school to play football for the Mocs. Williams has been very instrumental in the Rams success on the hardwood and football field over the past 3 seasons.
Terrence Smith Terrence Smith 5'11" | CG South Aiken | 2024 State SC
Smith will be a Huskie next after high school. Terrence will take his talents from South Aiken HS to UCONN in Storrs, CT.
Who Could Have a Breakout Year?
Israel Macklin Israel Macklin 6'5" | SF Camden | 2024 State SC
Macklin is a high energy run-jump-athlete who really brings it when on the floor for the Bulldogs. Israel certainly has his best basketball in front of him down the road. On any given night he can really explode in the scoring column and make you scratch your head like WOW.
Mason Mitchell Mason Mitchell 6'5" | SF Northwestern | 2024 State SC
Mitchell started his career in the Charlotte, NC area at South Meck HS – then Covid hit – then an injury. Mitchell at one-time ran with Team United when he was younger. Mason has seemed to get back in his groove with his game. Mitchell does a bit of everything on the hardwood with his production.
Maleek Taylor Maleek Taylor 6'6" | SF Darlington | 2024 State SC
Taylor was a pleasant surprise for the Upward Stars SE 3SSB Pee Dee Regional team this summer on the Grassroots Circuit. At times while at Darlington HS he plays in the shadows of a few other players. Taylor is looking to move up to certain stage this season for the Falcons and make a deep run in Class 3A in the Lower State.
Where Have You Been All Summer?
Prep Hoops saw Ray early in June with his high school team. Ray is a big lad with legit size down at St John’s Christian Academy in Moncks Corner. He helped the Cavaliers win a SCISA Class 2A State Championship last season in Sumter. Ray didn’t play any Grassroots ball this summer he told Prep Hoops.
Who’s on the Move?
Lytch has informed Prep Hoops that he looks to be headed out of state for next season. Lytch is finally back from being out for close to a year it seems. He really started to make progress this summer with his play from the perimeter. He looks to be headed up North for next season.
Elijah Crawford Elijah Crawford 6'1" | PG Brewster Academy | 2024 State #169 Nation New E , forward Daniel Jacobsen Daniel Jacobsen 7'2" | C Brewster Academy | 2024 State New E , Jordyn Kee Jordyn Kee 6'5" | CG Coranado | 2024 NV and Madden Collins Madden Collins 6'3" | SG Christ School | 2025 State NC all have left the Palmetto State for next season.
Crawford won’t be back at Legacy Early College according to the coaching staff. Crawford a Augusta, GA native ran on the EYBL Grassroots Circuit with Team Thad.
Jacobsen is headed to Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. Jacobsen has picked up several offers this summer with his play on the EYBL Circuit.
Kee moved onto Las Vegas, NV to attend Coronado HS.
Collins won a Class 4A State Championship last season at Irmo HS. Madden has reclassified into the 2025 Class and now will attend the Christ School in Arden, NC.
