What a summer for the 5-star out of Corner Canyon High School in Draper. Brody was just as solid as they come as he was a double-double threat every game, regardless of who his team played. He was holding his own against 7’0 + players which is no small task. His ability to almost switch and defend all 5 positions has colleges in a tug-of-war trying to get him to commit to their respective schools. With every school in the state putting their name in the hat trying to pull him they have some big time competition against some big time school out of state as he is a high academic prospect which makes those high academic institutions come after him aggressively. Brody had himself a big time grassroots season and caped it off with an outstanding Summer.
Ace proved once again he is the shiftiest guard in the state and he made life miserable for out of state defenders that did not do their homework. He can score the ball and he is just next level good. He goes toe to toe with all other highly recruited PG’s and most times he gets the better of them. Ace had an excellent Summer and he looks to continue to prove that he can play at the highest level.
Dutch was one of the most feared shooters in the UAA Circuit. His range and different ways to get his shot off really set the tone for him this grassroots season. He was able to come out off the dribble and pull, he was able to just catch and shoot and he was nice coming off of pin-downs. The range made it difficult to keep a hand-up because he could pull from anywhere and it looks like his talents are heading to Harvard after the season is over. This could be a school that he might be able to see the floor early with his shooting. He still has room to grow his games in many ways but excited to see what he brings this high school season as he makes a run for state once again.
Would describe Kyle as a throwback big that plays that blue collar style of basketball. He might not shoot many outside jumpers or hit fade aways but he is effective right now in the paint. He finds ways to score the ball and he is a good passer out of the post, so if you double him he finds ways to get other players other looks. He might have some of the highest percentage in points in the paint in the entire state. This grassroots season he proved he could do it against anyone. Playing outside of Utah has really allowed other programs to see what he could do and he has pulled some solid offers because of it.
Brock might have had one of the best unsigned senior grassroots season to date. Not only was he making noise he was breaking rims and almost demoting backboards with the force of his dunks. He was blocking shots and just being an athlete that could jump out of the gym at 6’9. He went from not knowing where he would go, to going to Snow to committing to play at Southern Utah University. If the Gold team had him at the 3SSB Championships who knows how far they could’ve gone. but we do know this. If Brock gets better we will hear his name real soon because he was something else this Spring.
One of the most talked about prospects out West right now that continues to rise on college big boards and national rankings talk. the sharp shooting 6’9 wing just does a little bit of everything but his ability to hit big shots was the talk of the 3SSB Championships as he made history helping the Utah Prospects capture their first shoe circuit title in program history. He was also named tournament MVP and he immediately started getting calls from a lot of coaches looking to offer the Alta High School product.
