Continue ReadingI loved the way CJ Hyland CJ Hyland 6’0″ | PG Grayson | 2024 State GA played in a win over Pebblebrook. The Western Carolina-commit didn’t have to score the ball to have complete control over the game. Instead of hunting his own offense, he was creating offense for others. CJ pushes the ball well in transition. His vision in the halfcourt and ability to keep his dribble alive are impressive. He would suck in the defense by driving baseline then whip out passes to the top of the key. Whenever Hyland had the ball on the wings, he would always have an eye looking opposite and would deliver perfect cross court passes to open shooters, getting the defense scrambling from side to side.
Highlights
Laz was an instant spark off the bench. Much like Hyland, Mason did a great job making the extra pass. His swing passes were on the money and had just enough zip to where they couldn’t be intercepted. Mason buried a corner three and provided activity on defense.
Highlights
With Monroe Area looking for scoring options to step up, KD Dawson KD Dawson 6’0″ | SG Monroe Area | 2024 State GA took the mantle at UGA camp. Over two games against 7A opponents, Dawson averaged 15 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. His offense was well-balanced, scoring on cuts, drives, pull-ups and three three-pointers.
One of the best shot-makers in South Georgia, Joseph Thomas Joseph Thomas 6’1″ | SG Portal | 2024 State GA has been on a tear since his junior season. He loves to create off the dribble and get to his spots in the mid-range. He hits tough turnaround jumpers and has deep three-point range. His shot selection has improved over time. He can catch fire in a hurry and score in bunches.
