Continue ReadingElite prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania (and beyond) continue the annual ritual of announcing that they will be changing high schools for next year. With the NCAA transfer portal jamming up high school recruiting, we expect there will be a host of extremely talented players who switch schools this spring / summer. Many of them will reclass into a later graduation year.
At Prephoops.com we will do our best to track all the player movements and pass that information on to our readers.
Below is the seventh installment in our Transfer Watch 2023 series.
Jasin Custus-Dancy – 5’10″ / Freshman / Academy of New Church / G2G Elite / Combo Guard: Custus-Dancy (formerly of City School) is an elusive dribble drive artist who gets into the paint for buckets, to drop a dime on a waiting big man or to kick out to the arc. On the defensive end, Custus-Dancy has a knack for slicing through passing lanes at the right moment for a steal. In addition to transferring to ANC, he will reclass into the 2026 graduate year.
Patrese Feamster Patrese Feamster 6'3" | SG Friends Central | 2027 PA – 6’3″ / Sophomore / Archbishop Carroll / Team Final Red / Combo Guard: This past winter Feamster was on his way to a monster freshman campaign at SCH Academy before a hand injury derailed his season. He is a versatile prospect who can play both guard spots. Feamster (7.5 ppg.) can drain threes, thrives in transition, and can score off the bounce. He is an underrated distributor too.
Kodi Johnson – 6’6″ / Sophomore / Phelps School / PA Coalition / Wing: The Phelps program continues to reload with the addition of this athletic, slasher style prospect who was previously at Olympus Prep (NJ). Johnson can get buckets from anywhere on the court as he proved by posting several 30-point games in 2022-23. He ability to work the baseline as well as the offensive glass for points often surprises opponents. Johnson will reclass into the 2025 graduate year at Phelps.
Brandon Russell – 6’5″ / Sophomore / Archbishop Ryan / Marston Elite / Wing: In 2022-23 Russell played forThe Pennington School (NJ) where he averaged 15 points, 4.7 rebounds and 5 assists per game. Last season he recorded five games of 20+ points, including a season high 27 points (4 threes) against Friends Central. Russell’s scoring abilities must be respected, but it is his creative handles and passing skills that will catch PCL foes off guard.
Jake West Jake West 6'1" | PG William Penn Charter | 2025 State #193 Nation PA – 6’1″ / Sophomore / George School / Team Final Red / Combo Guard: One of the most feared snipers in the region announced last week via social media that he is leaving Archbishop Carroll and taking his talents to the George School. In 2022-23 West was a 3rd Team All-PCL selection after he averaged 13 points, 3.5 assists and 3 boards per night at Carroll. In addition to canning jumpers from anywhere on the floor, West will blow past a defender with the dribble to score of facilitate.
Kyree Womack Kyree Womack 6'1" | PG Bonner-Prendergast | 2024 State PA – 5’10″ / Junior/ Bonner & Prendergast / We R1 / Point Guard: For the last two seasons Womack (14.6 ppg.) has been one of the most impactful point guards in SEPA. At Chester, he scored at all 3-levels, facilitated for teammates, and played lockdown defense. However, the most important responsibility he performed at Chester was controlling the tempo for Clipper’s legendary transition game. Few guards in the region can dictate pace of play the way Womack does. It will be interesting to see how the Bonner coaching staff deploys that asset.
