They’ve all been names that have popped up in the past seasons but have really excelled this spring to make the jump into this edition of the rankings. Take a look, as we’ve got big-name players ranging from the top of the rankings to lesser-known players with big potential towards the back end of our list.
Tyukalo is a 2024 combo guard at BFL Prep who has shown phenomenal shooting ability in the past but has really emerged as a playmaker with an increased intention to penetrate the defense, get to the rim, and open up space for teammates. His combo of size and skill at the guard spot makes him a unique player in the 2024 class and one of the top guards to watch.
Yarbrough is another prep school player, this time coming from Elite Prep. He’s a tall forward at 6-foot-8 who has great ball skills, can handle the ball in transition, make key passes in the half court, and has great touch around the paint. He has the ability to stretch the floor a bit too and can provide some rim defense. He’s a versatile forward with another great combination of size and skill.
Tews is a tough point guard who helped lead Mountlake Terrace to a strong run at the Hardwood Classic State Tournament last high school season. He’s a guy who can handle tight spots, sneak out of pressure, and shows good ability in the paint to find room to score around bigger guys.
Tahoma had a great season in 2022-23 and a big reason why was Plowman’s ability to provide consistent play from the top. He’s a level-headed player who plays within the offense, can stretch the floor from the 3-point line, and also has the size and strength to be a factor getting to the rim. He’s a guy that keeps the ball moving, shows good awareness in the half court, and should help Tahoma to another strong season next winter.
Gray gets a good opportunity to see more of the ball in his hands this coming high school season. He could be a guy that really takes off this year with the added opportunity to showcase his crafty play. He’s a strong two-way player that works hard, can make plays with the pass or the shot after penetrating the defense, and seems to have a great feel for attacking spaces and anticipating the defense’s reaction.

Bible is now at Garfield after previously playing at Eastside Catholic. He’s a lightning quick guard that will apply pressure on both ends, and really excels at beating his man off the dribble to attract more defenders and open up space for teammates. He’s the type of player who can swing momentum with a couple of big plays and using his quickness and anticipation to change the game flow in a hurry.

Wilson is a big body at 6-foot-7 who has shown some steady improvements inside, getting more physical, more aggressive, and showcasing a more consistent touch in the paint. There is a lot of potential with Wilson as he’s shown he can put together good footwork and be a factor on both ends. The main thing for his game is just bringing it consistently. He should be a bigger factor for Tumwater next winter.
