<p>There were lots of quality players from NorCal at the inaugural Cali-Live Basketball Event. The first live session when college coaches could attend. Here's a group who played well while we were in attendance. </p>

<p>Jones has leadership qualities. He's an experienced player that has been through the battles. He's a quality point guard, with vision, quality passing, he knows how to facilitate. He's solid body who plays with a bit of physicality using his dribble to get into the paint, play off two feet. He made big shots when needed. A good defender that makes you work for points.</p>

<p>Gospich has good size and plays with a good understanding of the game. The square shoulder forward is active inside working for position, being a wide target, he has decent foot work, and touch around the rim. He can step out and hit a 3ptr, use a dribble or two from the high post. He's a ball mover. He rebounds, and works to defends his position.</p>

<p>We call him the X Factor with this group. He's an experienced player that can play multiple roles during a game. He has the handles and passing to take over the point, he has the shooting to spot up along the perimeter for 3's that go in. He's good passing up in transition, he'll defend his position, and double down on the block.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1119254' first='Brandon' last='Gibson'] 6'5 2024 G/F/W, Monterey Trail</strong></p>

<p>Gibsons consistent play, and contributions helped lead The Trail to a title. During the run to the title, he was a major contributor in all areas of the game. He put points on the board in different ways, he worked hard on the defensive side of the ball, he used his size and strength to get rebounds, and help defend in the paint. He showed he could run point and include others with good passing. He plays the game with intensity.</p>

<p>He has size and strength to have effect in the post area. His improved ball handling allows him to bring it up in transition. He attacked from the perimeter using hard crossover dribbles, covering the ball and finishing through contact, he makes free throws. He plays with good balance, makes whip passes around the perimeter. He fills and finishes in transition. He's a rebounding guard, and he works to stay in front on defense.</p>

<p>Lamb has worked himself into better shape since the last time we saw him. He's moving better running up and down the court. Standing 6'8 he's shown an ability to knock down the 3-point shot along the perimeter. He makes for a big target when working and moving through the post areas, he can score around the rim. He'll get his rebounds and change some shots on defense.</p>

<p>He's a tough minded competitor with a good set of guard skills. He has vision and good passing. He's a savvy player that uses his body on the drive to draw fouls, he makes his free throws. He can knock down the 3-point shot along the perimeter if not accounted for. He'll help with the rebounding, he'll take charge a game. He'll can make the big shot.</p>

<p><strong>Gus Parson 6'1 2024 Guard, University</strong></p>

<p>Parsons shot the ball well going 4/5 from behind the arc in a competitive game we watched. He finished the event averaging 4.5 made 3's a game. He's a solid guard with good vision, he'll make the extra pass, make good cuts to the basket. He can use his dribble to get into the paint for floaters, and kick-outs. He runs to his spots for transition 3's.</p>

<p><strong>Will Perkins 6'5 2024 W/F, University</strong></p>

<p>Perkins stood out in the transition game, sprinting back to defend, hustling up for follow-up rebounds and tap ins. He filled lanes with good finishing moves. He showed a dribble drive, plant, power up, and score off two feet. His lengthy arms takes up the passing lane, and he got a couple of steals.</p>

<p>We haven't seen much of Rice, he's an experienced hard playing guard with good foot speed and intensity on the defensive side of the ball. He showed strong drives into the paint for floaters, paint jumpers, and kick-outs. He worked the baseline with dump-off passes, and cuts to the basket. He showed no hesitation, and a quick release when he put up 3ptrs. He's on the Wright's Watch List. </p>

<p>He's a fast moving guard with good handles, and quickness with dribble to get into the paint for floaters, and kick-outs. He's fast in transition looking to swoop in avoiding contact for finishes around the rim, he has a quick pull-up jumper on the dime from mid-range. He has foot speed to stay in front of defenders in full court.</p>
