2025 Stock Risers ~ Guards (seen at Westland High School)
Guard – Brandon Brown | Michigan Tar Heels
Brown is one of the primary playmakers and initiators for the Tar Heels. He is the outlet relief in times of pressure and he settles the team down to get them organized. He has a strong left hand dribble and drive that he used for his advantage all weekend.
Guard – Nehemiah Bennett | 5’11” | Miller Factory 2025 | Pickerington North (Ohio)
Bennett is a shooting guard that showcased consistently good shot mechanics. He made quick decisions which gave him easier scoring opportunities. Chuck Daly has an excellent basketball anecdote about being the most open when you first catch it. Bennett displayed the ability to use high basketball discernment about shooting or swinging the ball. Burnett was one of the better pure shot makers from the weekend.
Guard – Alex Perez | 5’11” | Michigan Jayhawks 2025 | Adrian (Michigan)
Perez is a steady, poised scorer. He has the confidence that he can beat his defender and get to the hoop regardless of the potential resistance. In a new era of “settling” for perimeter shots, it was refreshing to watch Perez repeatedly look to drive the ball to the paint area.
Guard/Wing/Forward – Henry Larger | 6’1” | Midwest Basketball Club Central 2025 Banaszak | Bishop Ready (Ohio)
Larger is a developing wing that showed good offensive skill set. He is an above average driver and soft touch around the rim. Larger is in the “tweener” stage of his position on offensive, but that is mostly due to the players around him. As a guard, Larger should be able to use his physicality and pace to score around the hoop. As a forward, he can step out and knock down the outside shots with regularity.
Guard – Dailen Malcom | 5’9” | Team Takeoff 2025 | Trotwood (Ohio)
Malcom is a quick, nifty guard that showed hustle throughout the event. With the ball in his hands, he can make plays all over the court. He had multiple tough drives finishing in traffic and showed some range by knocking down outside shots. Malcom plays with burst and explosiveness you like to see from undersized guards looking for advantages.
Guard – Andrew Banaszak Andrew Banaszak 6'0" | PG Delaware Hayes | 2025 OH | 5’11” | Midwest Basketball Club Central 2025 Banaszak | Delaware Hayes (Ohio)
Banaszak gives lots of effort and hustles on both sides of the ball. Sanders’ fundamental approach helps balance out the team. He does all the little things a lead guard should excel at: he looks to pass the ball ahead, he drives to the paint with eyes up, he looks for his shot enough to be a threat, and he hustles back to anchor the defense against transition. Overall, a really nice guard on another talented Midwest squad.
