The All-State guard is a heady driver that knows how to get to the line and score in a crowd. When he’s locked in, Carter can score from all levels but primarily is at his best inside the arc. Byrd is a sneaky good defender with a well-balanced floor game. He posted 12 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals in a 54-53 win over Woodward Academy. Carter is a good target for NAIA and D-III schools.
Mason’s size and strength on the perimeter give him a versatile upside. Lewis can play 1-3 and can hold his own when defending larger players in the post. Against Maynard Jackson, Mason was a bright spot, hitting a pair of corner threes and scoring on two tip-ins. Lewis collected 12 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Mason is productive across the board.
Cassius was in attack mode to open GBCA Live, getting to the rim at will in a 69-50 win over Woodland. After the lefty opened up with a three, Watkins found the vast majority of his points at the hoop, cutting through the defense for layups. He finished with 15 points, 4 assists and 2 steals.
Schools from all levels were interested in watching Mike White at GBCA Live. The burly shot-maker didn’t disappoint, leading Mountain View to a 4-0 record winning the Red Bracket. White tipped off the event, posting 16 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 block in a 47-39 win over Marist after trailing 27-21 at the break. White drilled four threes and used his strength to get downhill and score trough contact.
The shooter cashed in with three triples in a narrow defeat against Darlington. MaTaj can get hot in a hurry. He strokes it off the catch and off the dribble. He put up 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
