I enjoy AAU basketball quite a bit. However elite camps are always exciting due to the extended nature of scouting. You are not limited to two 20-minute halves. Consequently it is easier to find new names who don't stand out as much in those settings.

Following are five that caught my eye from the Ferris St Exposure camp held this past Sunday.

Shannon Henderson 6-9 2025 Stockbridge The immense physical upside is readily apparent. A legit 6-9 and with extreme length. Coordinated and fluid athlete who ran the court very well. Quick twitch athlete who posted a sub 11 second (10.9) lane agility time. One of the best in the camp regardless of position or age. With those times you might want a little more explosion to the rim than he showed. He is young and that can be improved with more reps. Did show the ability to finish softly with both hands around the basket. A lot of long term upside in this prospect.

Warwick Elder 6-1 2024 Jonesville I do remember this former Kalamazoo area player from a previous Ferris Elite camp. Then kind of fell off my radar a bit. This is partly due to his transfer to a smaller school on the Michigan/Ohio border. Also playing AAU with an Indiana squad. Has the Great Lakes region covered pretty well geographically. On the court has a versatile backcourt game. Solid and sound ball handler. Also has a well schooled outside shot. Backed up the fundamentals by testing athletically as one of the better guards in the camp. Plays for a very good high school coach in Jeff Turner.

Carter Kerby 5-10 2025 Frankfort Coming off big March run for the Panthers. Advanced all way to the state semifinals. Played well against a camp loaded with guards who are going to play somewhere. Has a really tight handle and gets to his spots easily on the perimeter. Has really smoothed out what used to be a unique release from beyond the arc. Profile could rise as he should be focal point of one of the top Division IV squads in he entire state this year. Has tested himself through the spring by running with UTS Elite.

[player_tooltip player_id='1438248' first='Jase' last='Becher'] 6-9 2025 Linden (pictured) Flint area big had a good performance against the litany of posts in the camp. Has come a long way since first caught him at a Mitten Recruit showcase before his high school career had even began. Was more big than prospect at that point. Now showing increased athleticism and better ball skills. Displayed a confident touch on a few mid range jumpers. Used his length and aggressiveness to provide rim protection. Part of well represented Michigan Unified program that sent a lot players to the camp. All of his hard work is beginning to show dividends.

[player_tooltip player_id='1438255' first='Declan' last='Winstanley'] 6-5 2025 Grand Rapids Christian Part of deep Eagle rotation where playing time might be difficult to earn. That is why a setting like this is important for this type of player. A interesting 3/4 forward as far as positional fit. Has the skill set to play out on the wing. But has a thick frame that allows him to bang down low. Competed hard and fell just outside the top 10 performers overall in the camp. Hoping to catch more of this prospect this summer.

I enjoy AAU basketball quite a bit. However elite camps are always exciting due to the extended nature of scouting. You are not limited to two 20-minute halves. Consequently it is easier to find new names who don't stand out as much in those settings.
