There were many standouts throughout the event, and plenty of offers were thrown around as well. Here’s a look at part two of some of the 2024 standouts from the Virginia schools in attendance.
Nijel Howard Nijel Howard 6'6" | PF Fairfax Christian | 2024 State VA | 6’6” PF | Fairfax Christian
Howard put his name on the map during session one, and continued to stuff the stat sheet while also showing his versatility in session two. The 6’6” forward did a great job on the block where he used his size and athleticism to both face up and work with his back to the basket, he showed his ability to stretch the floor, he made good decisions out of double teams and showed his mobility and athleticism. He finished the event averaging 15 points on 51% shooting with 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
Darren Harris Darren Harris 6'6" | SF Paul VI | 2024 State #59 Nation VA | 6’6” WF | Paul VI
Harris was good in session one but as a senior Duke commit he left you wanting more, but he must have known that as he came out in session two aggressive and showed why he’s one of the best shooters and scorers in the DMV. The 6’6” off guard showed his ability to get open and set his feet on the move and knock down shots with little space with his quick release, he showed his ability to get downhill and out in transition and play above the rim and he consistently made the right play on both ends. He finished the event as their top scorer at 14 points per game on 58% shooting from the field.
Garrett Sundra Garrett Sundra 6'11" | C Paul VI | 2024 State #148 Nation VA | 6’10” PF | Paul VI
Sundra recently named his top 5 schools, all of which are high major and winning programs, and if you told me that would be the case a few years ago I wouldn’t have believed it. Sundra is the ultimate glue guy who has great size and is mobile as he runs the floor and is an explosive athlete, he can guard multiple positions and use his length to challenge shots and rebound and he can score the ball efficiently from multiple levels. He finished the event averaging 8.8 points on 67% shooting and 4.3 rebounds per game.
Pat Ngongba | 6’10” C | Paul VI
Ngongba was the anchor for PVI as he’s seen his stock skyrocket over the summer and he’s been picking up offers left and right and was one of the most watched prospects over the past two sessions. He is a force in the paint with good touch around the rim with both hands, he’s developed into a reliable shooter who can stretch the floor, he stays grounded and can challenge shots without fouling and he has great instincts on both ends. He finished the event averaging 8.3 points on 54% shooting, 7 rebounds 2.3 assists and 1.5 blocks in 14.8 minutes per game.
Isaiah Abraham Isaiah Abraham 6'7" | SG Paul VI | 2024 State #62 Nation VA | 6’6” WF | Paul VI
Abraham is another PVI player who named his final schools in Virginia Tech, UConn, Marquette and Providence, and while he doesn’t put up huge numbers his willingness to play his role when he could go elsewhere and be the go-to guy bolds well for him when he moves to the next level. Abraham is an explosive athlete who is dynamic in transition and a good rebounder and defender, he can make shots on the perimeter and in the midrange, he can guard multiple positions and he brings great energy to his team on both ends. He finished the event averaging 8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 15 minutes per game.
Blake Neal Blake Neal 6'6" | PF St. Stephen's & St. Agnes | 2024 State VA | 6’6” WF | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Neal continues to show he’s one of the most improved players in the DMV, as he followed up his great first session with another efficient and productive session two. The 6’5” wing played with a great motor as he ran the floor and made plays on the defensive end, he finished well around the rim and got to the line, he made shots from multiple levels and he rebounded well too. He finished the event averaging 14.7 points on 60% shooting, 5.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.
Kyan Bowman Kyan Bowman 6'4" | SF St. Stephen's St. Agnes | 2024 State VA | 6’3” WG | St. Stephen’s St. Agnes
Bowman is the senior leader for this SSSAS team, and while he isn’t the go-to guy on this group he still finds ways to be impactful on both ends of the floor. He does the dirty work as he’s physical and brings a lot of toughness to his team, he picks his spots and scores it efficiently, he rebounds well on both ends and he makes the right play consistently. He finished the event averaging 8.3 points on 55% shooting from the field and 5.7 rebounds per game.
