Mekhi Wilson
Mekhi Wilson
Wilson was able to get things done on the offensive end throughout the event with his ability to break down defenses and make the right plays. Wilson did a good job of getting past his primary defender with his shifty handle, leading to paint touches and shots around the rim with good touch, or getting to his spot for a mid-range pull-up. When Wilson wasn’t looking to score, he was able to hit cutters and open shooters on time and on target. Defensively, Wilson did a good job of anticipating passes for deflections and steals leading to transition opportunities.
Jackson Scott
Jackson Scott
Scott stood out among others with his ability to push the pace on fastbreaks with intention and make the right plays in transition. Scott did a good job of putting pressure on the defense in transition as well as keeping his head and eyes up to find open players leading to easy assists or fouls. In the half court, Scott continued to be active without the ball in his hands by cutting through open space in the defense resulting in easy shots at the rim.
Robinson shot and knocked down above-the-break three-pointers off the dribble or the catch with good confidence and consistent form throughout the event. Robinson also showed the ability to get the rim and finish at a high level, whether that be in the half-court setting or transition. Defensively, he showed great hustle and effort getting back to stop fast breaks and deterring shots at the rim.
Highlights
Cam Shaw
Cam Shaw
Shaw stood out on the defensive end as well as the offensive end throughout the event this past weekend. He showed good effort on long controlled closeouts to force missed shots on the perimeter and also did a good job rotating into the paint to deter drives and block shots at the rim. Offensively, Shaw did a good job of getting out in transition to finish fastbreaks and finding holes in the defense, putting pressure on the paint in the half court.
Standing at 6-foot-6, Henderson stood out on offense with his size, versatility, and playmaking abilities. In fastbreak situations, Henderson did a good job of filling the lanes and beating the defense to the rim typically leading to a finish or a foul the shot. He showed the ability to take defenders off the dribble to get the rim for and-1 finishes and the awareness to attack open space when the ball isn’t in his hands to receive passes around the rim for a dunk. Out of the post, Henderson was able to operate with his head and eyes up to deliver on-time passes to cutters and open shooters when the defense was out of position.
