Here is the Best of Southeast Kansas:

Top ranked senior – #5, [player_tooltip player_id='1270296' first='Mason' last='English'], 6-foot-2 guard, 2024, Pittsburg:

If scoring is your thing, you can't help but love this guy. He's arguably the most natural and effective scorer in Kansas. He can shoot it from anywhere and gets to shots in the midrange where he draws a ton of fouls. He averaged 30 points a game as a junior.

Top ranked junior – #16, [player_tooltip player_id='1772980' first='Jack' last='Perry'], 6-foot-2 guard, 2025, Galena:

A brilliant catch and release shooter, Perry has length to shoot over defenses and athleticism to run the floor and get to open shots on the wing. He drilled 38% from deep as a sophomore. He averaged 10 points per game for a state-bound team.

Most Underappreciated – [player_tooltip player_id='1953942' first='Hudson' last='Baker'], 6-foot-8 center, 2024, Labette County (pictured):

One of the longest players in the state this year, Baker is a natural rim protector. His name has stayed off the radar to a degree because the Grizzlies have hovered around .500 the past couple of seasons. But Baker could be dominant as a senior after recording 13 points and 8 boards as a junior.

Top rising talent – Evan Hutto, 5-foot-10 guard, 2026, Winfield:

Hutto got a lot of playing time for the Vikings as they struggled through a tough season. He was one of their primary ball handlers and was a threat to score, particularly from deep. He averaged 6 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists, hitting 32% from behind the arc.

Top team – Pittsburg-St. Mary's Colgan:

Just about every player from the Panthers returns. The 2A team went to state led by juniors: [player_tooltip player_id='2387765' first='Jack' last='Schremmer'] averaged 13 points and 5 rebounds, while Tucker Harrell tossed 12 points. 6-foot-3 Tristan Voss contributed 11 points and 6 rebounds. They were a balanced group last year and should be very experienced after back-to-back trips to state.
