We will take a look at the rankings by position over the next few days. Here’s a look at part one of the power forwards and centers in the sophomore class.
18) Matt Henderson Matt Henderson 6'6" | PF Powhatan | 2025 State VA | 6’5” PF | Powhatan (#69 Overall)
Henderson is a two sport star who is a dynamic athlete and is someone coaches should take a look at just outside of Richmond. The 6’5” forward is a versatile as he can play on the perimeter where he can knock down shots and put it on the deck, he can post up smaller defenders and finish around the rim and he is dynamic in transition as a finisher through contact and above the rim.
17) Jordan Jackson Jordan Jackson 6'7" | PF Highland Springs | 2025 State VA | 6’7” PF | Highland Springs (#64 Overall)
Jackson is emerging as a very intriguing prospect in the Richmond area, as he has a lot of tools that are valuable at the next level and still has room to improve. At 6’7” he’s a good athlete with long arms and may still be growing, he has the ability to step out on the perimeter where he can stretch the floor and make shots and he is a good rim protector and rebounder too.
16) Eann Pennix Eann Pennix 6'4" | PF South County | 2025 State VA | 6’4” PF | Colgan (#46 Overall)
Pennix had a very productive season for a young Colgan team that is on the rise, and he’s part of a versatile front court that makes it hard for teams to match up with. The 6’4” forward plays with great activity as he hits the glass and moves well on the defensive end, he runs the floor hard and can get out in transition for easy buckets and he’s an excellent finisher in traffic and around the rim.
15) Levi Hamilton Levi Hamilton 6'8" | C Jefferson Forest | 2025 State VA | 6’8” C | Hargrave (#45 Overall)
Hamilton shoed a lot of promise at Jefferson Forest his first few years and recently announced he’ll be transferring to Hargrave where he’ll have a chance to develop and get better over the next few years. The 6’8” big man has a lot of intriguing tools as he has good touch both around the rim and when he steps out to the three-point line, he has good length to challenge shots and rebound and he’s a good passer as well.
14) Brandon Edozie Brandon Edozie 6'8" | C Forest Park | 2025 State VA | 6’8” C | Forest Park (#44 Overall)
Edozie has shown a lot of potential in his first few years with Forest Park, and while he’s been productive early in his career he still has plenty of room to develop moving forward. He’s a big and athletic post who moves well and gets up and down the floor, he’s a big time rim protector and can finish above the rim on duck ins and he’s able to post and use his size to clear out space and finish in the paint too.
13) Jeremiah Morris Jeremiah Morris 6'8" | C King's Fork | 2025 State VA | 6’8” C | King’s Fork (#41 Overall)
King’s Fork has been one of the most successful public school teams in the state over the past five years, but this may be the first time they’ve had a true big man who can dominate the paint the way that Morris does. The 6’8” big man could move way up this list as he’s starting to put it all together with his blend of size and athleticism, his soft touch in the paint and out to the elbows and his ability to control the glass and protect the rim.
12) Michael Manser Michael Manser 6'7" | PF Virginia Academy | 2025 State VA | 6’7” PF | VA Academy (#38 Overall)
Manser is another player to keep an eye on as he’s starting to turn the corner as well and has a lot of versatility that will intrigue college coaches. The 6’7” forward is an inside-out threat who can stretch the floor and make shots consistently from deep, he’s a good passer with vision on the perimeter and out of double teams and he’s a good athlete who can get up and down the floor as well.
