The Prep Hoops MD/DC 2024 Player Rankings have been updated and as usual, Adam Ayalew and I will take a look at three roundtable question surrounding the release.

1. Who was the prospect that you felt deserved the rise in the rankings?

Giacubeno: We moved [player_tooltip player_id='1579098' first='Josiah' last='Legree'] into our top-40 after an impressive junior season. The 6'1 guard helped Parkville to the Class 4A title and was instrumental in that game where he scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half. He's a skilled lead guard with ability to impact the game on or off the ball. He can bury shots from deep, break his man down off the dribble and create open shots for those around him on penetration. Legree announced over the weekend that he will be transferring to Loyola Blakefield to play in the BCL and MIAA A Conference for his final season.

Ayalew: Alex Mostashari - was solid during his All-MAC junior campaign. Was consistently one of the better players on his team. Definitely a threat from three.

2. Which prospect do you think has the best chance of improving their ranking this summer?

Giacubeno: I think if Team Thrill guard [player_tooltip player_id='1127307' first='Andrew' last='Dixon'] continues his level of play that he has put forth this spring into the summer, he'll receive another healthy bump in the rankings. Thrill is dominating the UAA Circuit and remains undefeated. While Derik Queen, Chance Mallory and others are receiving spotlight, Dixon has quietly contributed at a steady level as a point guard who lives in the paint and creates. He can finish floaters with either hand or make crafty no-look dimes to guys like Queen, [player_tooltip player_id='2231715' first='Gabe' last='Grant'] or [player_tooltip player_id='1127310' first='Rob' last='Dockery'] in the dunker's spot for jams. Dixon is also a menace on the defensive end playing on or off the ball.

Ayalew: Dante Mayo Jr. - people just need to get eyes on him. He can shoot and score with the best in this area.

3. Who remains an under-the-radar prospect that colleges should know about?

Giacubeno: I'm keeping my eye on Global Squad HGSL's [player_tooltip player_id='1948339' first='David' last='Dorsey']. The 6'6 wing had a successful junior season at Frederick High School where he played a vital role in their one-loss record. Dorsey is still filling into his frame and will need to improve overall physicality, but what he already has is the ability to score from multiple positions as a combo forward. He's equipped with good size, length and intriguing upside as a college prospect. We tend to see guys like Dorsey take advantage of the summer stage heading into their senior year and I'd expect Dorsey fit this bill. He currently ranks No. 49.

Ayalew: [player_tooltip player_id='1948338' first='Nate' last='Wooden'] - a powerhouse for Riverdale Baptist. Thrives in the open court and plays above the rim.
