See below for 8 Stock Risers that have been improving, honing their skills, and performing well as of late. These guys are also having a standout spring AAU season (except Reinke, he runs track).
Time to look at eight rising stars!
He has all the tools/skills and work ethic to be a serious college prospect. Nissley has great shooting range and has the ability to beat defenders off the bounce. He is a gifted scorer that puts defenders on their heels. Garrett can run the show at the point and/or make plays on the wing. Nissley is also an excellent rebounder. Garrett gets many deflections and steals on defense because of his great feel for hoops. If his game continues to mature, Nissley’s ceiling will continue to rise.
“Easy Money” is a SNIPER! He is an absolute gym rat with a tremendous love for the game. Carter had a nice season at the varsity level in the EDC. Evanson had some monster 3-point shooting games this winter. He might be undersized but he makes up for it with a quick shooting release and his shooting range goes beyond college range. Evanson is also a sneaky athlete. This spring, Carter has rebounded well because of his quick bounce and he has been able to keep defenders in front. As he matures and adds muscle, Easy Money is going to become a lethal offensive weapon!

Here we have another knockdown shooter. Benning was the top scoring freshmen in class A this past season. I watched him play early in the year vs. Shanley and it was easy to see that Chris is a baller! Believe the hype when it comes to Benning, he can flat out score the rock from every level. Chris can stretch the floor with triples, knockdown pull-up J’s, and finish around the rim with craftiness. He has a high hoops IQ. The exciting thing about Benning is, he is always improving and adding to his game.
He was a standout last weekend at the Stomping Grounds. Abakar has impressive size and athleticism. He looks like he would strictly be an interior player because of his stature. That is not the case! Abakar has a beautiful jump shot that is effective all the way out to 3. Mr. Miganoudji is also a spectacular slasher with noteworthy handles, he has little trouble crossing people up. Do not forget, Abakar can pass the ball. He gets his teammates involved and has sharp ball skills. Abakar is also an elite defender that can do everything and guard any position.
He helped the Miners to a 3rd place finish at the State Tournament. Braylen had a fantastic high school season and has continued to do that is AAU ball. This past weekend at the Scheels Series, he had two high scoring games with 25 & 27 against quality opponents. He nailed 7 triples in a single game. Braylen is a pure shooter that is deadly from beyond the arc. He can also make plays on the way to the rim. Shirado is a high IQ player with top-notch basketball instincts. Braylen is ultra-skilled with the rock and he is becoming a notable leader.
He is only a 9th grader but Parker is 5th All-Time in ND History for 3-pointers made in a season. Jacobson hit 101 3-balls and did it at a 50% rate. Talk about a deadeye, WOW! Parker has continued the hot shooting in AAU hoops. Parkers will knock down triples off the catch and shoot. Every time the ball leaves his hand, it looks like it is going in. This Cardinal is a pure bucket from deep. His range runs well beyond the high school arc. Jacobson also has a sweet step-back and a side-step that he uses to get his shot off. If you like shooters, you will love Jacobson.

He is a strong and explosive athlete. Barjolo has advanced athleticism for his age. I like his ball skills and slashing ability. When attacking defenders, Josh changes speed like a European sports car. He is no stranger to blow-by drives because defenders are unable to physically stay with him. Barjolo is very fast up the court and is a playmaker in transition. He thrives at getting 2 feet into the paint and Josh has an impressive finishing package.
He is not playing AAU but is certainly talented enough to. Reinke is a gifted track runner, he has run a sub 2:10 800, that is impressive for a frosh! Colton played on the sophomore and JV teams this winter at Davies. He is a long athlete with tons of potential. His dad played college hoops at UND, so Colton certainly has the basketball lineage. He strikes me as a versatile defender that can guard in the paint, move his feet on the wing, and take up passing lanes with his length. On O, Reinke has good feet, he shares the ball, has a smooth J, and can produce around the hoop.
