Here are the players that stoodout in the afternoon session of Saturdays games in St. Louis at the Show Me Showdown.
Cole Stuart Cole Stuart 5'11" | SG Freeburg | 2024 State IL (IL Orange) 2024
Cole is a exceptional lead guard. He pushes the ball with pace always havinv his eyes up looking for teammates. Stuart played with pace and purpose which is what you like to see in point guards. He was able to hit a few shots from three and is very capable of getting to the rim off the bounce.
Trey’Dez Green (LA Broncos) 2024
The best player in the gym is always worth the price of admission. Green has the size and athleticism to make him better than any other player on the court with him. Watching him catch everything close to him and then dunking it with authority and running back on defense like nothing happened screems high major prospect. Trey’Dez gobbles up boards on boths ends which makes him a double double threat. Already committed to LSU I’m ready to watch this guy on TV very soon.
TJ Hueston (Chicago Grinders) 2026
Hueston was big in a close game on Saturday. He made three of the toughest shots to propel his team to a 1 point victory. TJ showcased his shooting from all three tiers of the court. His ability to score over taller defenders and get key steals was the benefactor in his team’s win.
Demond Laongoen Demond Laongoen 5'10" | CG Madison East | 2024 State WI (Wisconsin Triple Threat)
Very savvy guard that plays with the right mental feel for game. He can drive and kick with the best of them. What stood out about Laongeon was that he is very effective in the post as a PG as he scores or is fouled in the process. Not many players play with that old school mentality that Demond does.
Taylor Powell (Illinois Orange) 2024
It seemed like anytime I looked down Powell was throwing down crowd pleasing dunk. It seems like East St. Louis has another athletic player that can woo the crowd. Taylor has good length and plays with tons of energy. He is good on the boards and does a nice job at protecting the basket also. A guard with long arms and agility always finds a way to stay on the court and Powell seem to have figured that out.
Bryant Hedrick (Chicago Demons) 2024
Dynamic scoring guard that shot it well from the corner early in the game but also got downhill and put pressure on defenses by getting to the rim not settling for long shots. Towards the end of the game Bryant got a nice block and even recorded a few steals in a pretty convincing win for the Demons.
